I finally got 93 Firemaking last night! The next stage of Ancient Effigies is now open to me, but I've given up melee combat for the time being, so i doubt that will help. I also broke down and spent all my money on 60 Prayer. I'm happy for the level, but sad because I now have no cash! But at least it's only Thieving (54) and Dungeoneering (57) to get to level 60, then I can forget about them til the push for 70+ all skills.

Hey guys, I'm gonna start posting on this blog again! Did you miss me? I doubt it, but if you did, leave a comment and I'll be sure to leave one back saying how awesome you are.
So, onto Runescape. Recently, I went from 89-92 Firemaking, and got an Inferno Adze! After a nightmare first Beacon Run, where I died to a Revenant Ork, disconnected twice and took the wrong Goblin Sphere, I set up again and stormed the second run, completing it in 10 minutes flat and securing the wonderful Adze! That thing is amazing, and looks amazing too. It is part of my skiller outfit that I am assembling, which I will be wearing while I storm towards the various 99 Skill goals that I have set out for myself in 2011. First up is Firemaking, then Woodcutting, as those two are at, or almost at, the halfway point in terms of experience. After getting my outfit together, I'm going to be training those two totally until I have 99 in both. Then I will be going after 99 Agility, 99 Mining and 99 Fishing, all the while pouring any money I make into 99 Construction. I'm not going to restrict myself to completely grinding out any of those skills in 3 weeks. I am going to take my time, doing things I enjoy along the way, like minigames, quests and collecting cool items.
Also, Free Trade and the Old Wilderness are coming back! I am really happy about Free Trade, as it was the one thing that I enjoyed when I played back in '05. I am not particularly happy about the Old Wildy, as I can't see what it has over the present one, and too much stuff has to be changed and relocated to make it seem like a good move. But, I am but one of a small and frankly irrelevant minority playing the game, and it seems inevitable that all that has been mentioned will happen.

The fruits of my labours! Really happy about this level. Smithing has gone from an untouched, unloved money sink of a skill, that only went up for quests, to a quick, relatively cheap skill that has become one of my higher stats! I'm not stopping here though. I have an objective from 70 to 91 that I'm only 10% of the way through. I really want to get an assistable skill up so I can assist effigies! After 91 I'll be going, albeit at a more relaxed pace, to 99! The nearest that could happen is Christmas, but more probable is around February/March. Smithing is the 7th rarest 99, so I'm really looking forward to wearing a respected Skillcape! I also got 78 Magic! I've gotten 76-78 all from superheating! Even better, by the time I get 99 Smithing I'll be close to 92 Magic!

Big congratulations to Cossack, Waste God and Tanya for being promoted to General rank in Canting! You all thoroughly deserve it!

Apologies for the lack of updates on this blog. Was on holiday last week and bogged down with RL stuff in the run up to half term. But I have a week until school starts so I'm gonna try and maintain this blog while I have the time.

So, onto what I've been doing. Well, in the last couple of days I did Quiet Before the Storm and A Void Dance, and I'm currently getting the skill requirements for The Void Stares Back. Managed to get 70 Smithing from 66 today, as well as 77 Farming, 60 Slayer and 69 Mining! Right now I'm making a bit of money to fund 70 Construction and 70 Crafting, and then I'm gonna get 78 Strength along with 65 Slayer and knock out The Void Stares Back and Blood Runs Deep in one fell swoop!

Now, about updates! From now on, whenever a new update comes out, I'll do a review of it (If I'm able to) and rate it out of five. It'll add a new dimension to this blog, and I might even start a seperate page for it, but we'll see.

Okay, so, I tried out the Charm Sprites. They are quite fun to catch, but very poor for charms and do get quite annoying if you misclick, as you end up having to run all over the place clicking frantically! It's a shame really; this was the update I was most looking forward to, but the abysmal charm rates have ruined it for me.

Overall I'd give the update a 2/5. A bit of fun, and good for Hunter stones, but better charms and xp can be found elsewhere.

The Hallowe'en event was great fun! An amusing plot with well written and sometimes hilarious dialogue, I had a great time doing it. The spider puzzle was interesting, if a little confusing, and getting the autograph for Grim provided some very amusing lines! I also, like the reward, the emote especially!

Overall, I'd give this update a 4/5. The quest was great fun, but the Bone Brooch doesn't quite cut it for me. I prefer a reward you can wear and looks cool!

I'm really looking forward to the next couple of months' updates! I expect we'll be seeing the Warped Fllors for Dungeoneering along with some new rewards, and very, very hopefully the Mahjarrat Ritual Quest!

Have not had the time to post at all since Sunday, which is why I'm doing this now.

Got these two wonderful levels are many hours of grinding!

After getting 66 Smithing I went off to complete the Lumbridge Hard Diary. I got the snazzy new ring, and the lamp got me to 63 Herblore! AND the circus got me to 76 Magic!

I have just bought 57k Maple Logs, enough to get me just short of 99 Firemaking. We'll see how that turns out, as I'm hopeless at keeping at goals!

Did my daily Farming Run in the morning and got this wonderful level! Doing a daily Tree run is really making the xp come in fast!

The rest of the day was just spent Fletching, homework, and Woodcutting while watching The Inbetweeners (Pure class :D). I also bought 3.8k Gold Ore, 5 Mithril Bars and a Dwarven Stout (m). Smelting the Gold Ore will get me to 66 Smithing, and then I can go into the Draynor Dungeon thingy, drink the Stout, smith a Mithril Platebody and complete the Lumbridge Hard Diary!
There is a great way of smelting Gold Ore. You withdraw a ton of Nature Runes and the rest of your inventory is filled with ore. Equip a Fire Staff, and start to smelt the Gold Ore. While smelting, you can Superheat the ores and your smelting isn't disrupted. You can get more then double the hourly experience doing this method!

Managed to polish off 66 Runecrafting in the morning! Did my daily farm run and I'm now 77k till 76 Farming. Hopefully I'll get 80 sometime in October.
The rest of the day was spent doing homework and Fletching. I bought the 5130 Maple Logs I need to fletch to get 80 Fletching, and right now I'm 60k to 79. I'm trying to clean up my stats and get them to nice numbers :D
I then caved in and bought 1.5k chins and prayer pots and took off to the Mummies in the Chaos Tunnels. Not long after arriving I got 80 Ranged!!

4th skill to hit 80!
After a good hour and a half I left with just over 2k till 80 Constitution, so I went over to the Ogres outside Yanille and finally got the level!

5 skills at 80+!!
Gonna get 70 Mining, Crafting and Agility next weekend, and maybe 60 Slayer and Thieving. Then it's back to Runecrafting!

Got a good amount of Runecrafting done today. Did a farming run in the morning which left me at 20k till 75 Farming. Did penguins with Rachy, Orix and Schapps, and used the points to get 75 Farming!
The rest of the day was spent doing schhol work and Runecrafting. I had about 42k till 65, so after almost two hours of ZMI I got it!

Woot Death Runes!
Right now I'm 8k till 66. I'm really enjoying Runecrafting. It doesn't feel like grinding, and I'm training Farming alongside it, so I'm going to achieve two very long, very hard 99s in one go. I really want to get to 91 by the end of the year, since after Christmas I'll have to get cramming for GCSEs. If I have 91 by then I'll be able to get xp by doing effigies, but I just won't have the time to Runecraft properly.

It's been over a week since I last updated this blog, but to be honest there hasn't been much to write home about since Bonus Xp Weekend. The Elite Diaries look cool and it's nice to see some Daemonheim graphics incorporated into the armour set, but since I have barely completed the second section of each of the diaries, they don't really mean much to me. Septembers last update is a novice free-to-play quest, so I haven't got much hope for that. The last four months of 2009 contained a brilliant set of updates, what with the Living Rock Caverns, Extreme Potions, Ancient Curses and Kuradel, so I'm hoping for some great updates in the last quarter of 2010. This years updates, apart from the brilliant Dungeoneering skill, Love Story, Elite Treasure Trails and a couple of others, have been a bit disappointing in my opinion. I hope we can start to see some more great updates in the near future.
As to what I'm doing in game, I've mainly been preparing for the two goals that I will be concentrating on until I achieve 99 in both skills. These goals are 99 Runecrafting and 99 Farming. I've been making money to supply seeds, and I now have the saplings ready to get me to 80 Farming. I had to sell some seeds to buy Pure Essence, but after a few weeks of Broad Bolt Tips, Farming Avantoes and Kingdom Management, I'll have enough to get on with it. I'll be doing ZMI Runecrafting on W70 if anybody wants to pop over and say hi :D

And I got 64 Runecrafting on Sunday :)

Bonus Xp Weekend Report

For me, Bonus xp weekend was great. I managed to complete almost all of what I had planned (a small miscalculation in Firemaking left me one level off my intended target) and still played in a relaxed way and managed to have fun.

Day 1: Friday

Friday consisted of me getting the majority of the levels I had planned for out of the way. I logged on after school, and set about tagging all of my trees. I was getting around 19k xp per Yew tree, 27k per Palm and a whopping 33k xp for the Calquat! As I teleported off to the circus I was left looking at 72,73 and 74 Farming appearing one on top of the other in my chatbox! I did the Magic and Agility parts of the circus, not bothering to waste my time on Ranged where I always fail, and promptly teled off to Castle Wars to place Eyes of Newts into Irit Potions! The Herblore levels came in thick and fast, and after all my pots were done I was 62 Herblore, having started at 52! After celebrating and chatting with somebody who had just achieved 98 Herblore, I made my way to the Fist of Guthix lobby where I would spend the majority of the weekend training Firemaking. I logged out for a quick break and a Frube (they rock, especially the Cherry flavour ones), logged back in and got my first random of the day. Luckily it was the Pillory random, so I dispatched it quickly and took 3 Grimy Snapdragons as a reward!

I settled down for the rest of the night to make some fires. I had 2500 Magic Logs to burn, and another 1k trickling through from the Grand Exchange. I started at 83, with 287k to 84. By the time I went up to bed, I was 200k till 87! I managed to get 84, 85 and 86 Firemaking in less than an hour and a half! Level 85 Firemaking was my best level of the weekend, as it marks the quarter point of the skill and I can finally burn Elder Evil Trees! At the end of Friday I had gained almost 2 Million xp and 17 levels!

Day 2: Saturday

Saturday was spent finishing up some levels that I had been nearing for a while. I started in the morning by getting 87 and 88 Firemaking, and then joined Tanya and Yrrarrghh up at Ape Atoll for some Agility! I monkeyed my way around the course and walked away with 68 Agility! While was there Yrrah got 81 Agility, and during my lunch Tanya got 80! Big congratz to both of you! After the level I checked over my stats and found I was 16k till 75 Magic! As it is an important quest milestone, I settled down in Isfadar, admiring the scenery and alching! I soon got the level, and then went back to Firemaking. By that time, late Saturday afternoon, my Bonus xp was at around x1.3, so I mulled around and did some Mining, before logging off. Not a bad second day to the weekend!

Day 3/Last Day: Sunday

I started off Sunday by Firemaking. I was aiming for 90, but I only managed 89 after forgetting to buy another 1k Magic logs. Still, 89 Firemaking from 83 is a lot of xp and a big help in training the skil. I didn't bother doing Maples since I only had a small bonus, so I went down to the Dwarven mines to mine some iron, hoping to polish off 69 Mining. I tried about 15 worlds, which all had at least two people competing for the iron, before depositing all but my pickaxe and heading into PVP. I was soon attacked by somebody, and I had to lose him in the Mines before running back to the bank. I took out some Fire Wave and Entangle runes, and headed back to confront him. I found him lurking in the Living Rock Caverns, where I promptly killed him! I then took out my Dragon Hatchet and headed off to cut some Ivy. Unfortunately , I forgot to log out of the PvP world, and some Ice Barrager killed me and I lost the Hatchet. Thankfully, Tanya and Karl each gave me a trick, and I managed to make almost all of the money I had lost back! Big thanks to both of you! The rest of the day was spent mucking around, not really doing much. At the end of the weekend, I managed to gain over 2.5mil xp, and I now have over 30mil total xp!!

All in all, it was a very enjoyable weekend, and a big thank you to Jagex for organising it. I know a lot of people dislike these weekends, but I really appreciate them. And come on, phr33 expees is good, right? I leave you with a picture of my xp stats at the end of the weekend. I made more progress over these last 3 days than I did over the entire summer holidays!

August/Pre Bonus Xp Weekend Hiscores

Didn't play that much over the whole summer to be honest. We had relatives over for a total of six weeks, and I was expected to embark on EVERY SINGLE OUTING with them, no matter how boring. As a result I didn't get many levels at all. 5 Firemaking and 5 Crafting levels are my biggest achievement, which is a little disappointing. Hopefully I can gain a load of levels on BXPW, and I am aiming to achieve 99 Firemaking, at least 90 Ranged and 80 Hunter by the end of 2010.

And a belated Happy Birthday to Merch Gwyar! :D

Conquest

Ah, Conquest. Finally a tactical minigame that I enjoy. Conquest is everything Mobilising Armies isn't. You can chat, both in public and in clans, moving your camera is more refined, and, most importantly, YOU NEED SKIILL TO GET THE REWARDS! By suiciding in Siege at MA you can get Lord Marshall Clothing and all the imbued rings with no thinking. In Conquest, you need the right combinatuons of pieces and Commands to win. I enjoy playing it very much, and it is a much faster and more enjoyable way of getting Commendation points than Pest Control.

The Void Deflector, while not having particularly great stats itself, is endlessly useful, as it counts as one of the pieces of the Void Knight set. This means that you can replace, say, the Void Gloves with Barrows Gloves or the top with Karil's or Ahrims Top, while still getting the 10% bonus for whichever helmet you are wearing. And it looks pretty cool too :D

As for what I've been up to, I've just been farming and collecting for Bonus Xp Weekend, and Firemaking. I'm now 85k xp till 83 Firemaking, and I have 4k Magic Logs for BXPW. If I get to 86/87 by BXPW, I should get 92 once I burn all those Magics :D

True Skill Mastery

Seeing videos of Telmomarques getting 120 Dungeoneering, I began to think about how the game would be affected if the level cap was raised to 120. Since True Skill Mastery was introduced to a new skill which no player had maxed, there were no complaints about 'all my hard work has been ruined' and 'its too hard' which would come if, say, True Woodcutting Mastery had been implemented. Players are very protective and fiercely proud of their Skillcapes; having to gain another 91 million experience to truely max out a skill would prove beyond 95% of Runescapers. However, what would the result of such an update be in Runescape as a whole?

Well, adding another 21 levels to each skill also adds over 500 levels in which to add new content. How about Slayer creatures requiring 100+ Slayer? They would be truely fearsome beasts, and would probably have amazing graphics and drops to boot. Smithing is a dead end skill; there is no reward for reaching level 99 bar the Skillcape. Increasing the level cap to 120 would leave room for new untradeable armour with stats superior to Dragon and even Barrows, with amazing looks as well. Ever imagined how full Obsidian would look? Imagine being able to smith it yourself!

However, there are several skills I view to be 'finished' already. Herblore is the best example so far; how do you top Extreme potions and Overloads? Introducing further combat potions would seriously overpower players compared to Monsters, if that isn't already the case now. Prayer is another similar skill. A Prayer which increases stats higher than Turmoil, combined with new Potions would render God Wars Bosses and even the Corporeal Beast as mere training monsters, the Armoured Zombies and Giant Spiders of the present age. Although this could be counteracted with new, harder bosses, the old ones become obselete. Let's be honest; I can find an empty KBD world on my first or second go. Finding an empty Bandos world is much harder. Our hardest bosses now would become like the KBD.
However, I think True Mastery can work in several skills. Slayer, Mining, Smithing, Summoning and Agility are all skills that can have the level cap raised with no lasting effects to playing style, so long as the products are untradeable. And, lets be honest, the Dungeoneering Master cape looks awesome, and the emote is amazing. Slayer Master Cape? Agility Master Cape Emote? Beastly new untradeable armour? Raising the level cap in these skills would drasticly improve gameplay and reduce how 'buyable' some skills are.

Two mega events happened to me today. First, I got 71 Farming and 74 Magic to get me to 1700 total level! Then I did my dailies and a herb run, sold up and hopped over to W2 to try and get me one of the new masks. Well, to cut an hour long story short, I BOUGHT A BLACK UNICORN MAAAAASK!! It looks awesome and I'm sooo happy! One slight downer; I now have almost no money to my name. The mask cost me 18.5 mil, but I'm probably gonna sell it when it reaches its peak for an easy profit :D

Oh, and I really want to skill in the Living Rock Caverns. Only problem is that I have neither a high enough Fishing level nor the Mining level required. I decided to try and get both 80 Mining and 85 Fishing; if I get those by the time school starts, my summer won't have been completely wasted :P

I haven't been able to get on much in the last couple of days, and when I have its just been to do herb runs and daily money makers.

Oh and I bought an Armadyl Cloak for mid price off Bass Daddy!!!! It looks so cool and I'm definitely keeping it, unless I can trade it for an Ornamental kit or a mask of some sort.

Up to 16mil cash! I discovered a great lil money maker. There is a woman in the food shop in Jatiszo that sells Yak Hide. It starts at 1000 in stock and respawns all 1000 in 24 hours. It takes about 15 minutes to buy them all and brings in around 200k profit a day! Combining that with buying the Broad Bolt Tips from Machzna while doing a herb run, plus the herbs themselves, brings me 400-500k profit a day for less than 25 minutes work!

I couldn't get on until about 4 pm today because of more manual labour in preparation for the second wave of cousins arriving in a few days. When I logged in I decided to go and make some more splitbark helms, but first I had to do Shades of Mor'ton. Well, quest complete, I spent about an hour and a half running all over Mor'ton repairing temples, cremating Shades, collecting keys and looting chests! I managed to get 13 Fine Cloths and assorted junk. I took my Lunar Staff, all my money, all the Fine Cloth and an Ectophial and cut the 12 Bark I needed. Also I'm now under 500k to 92 Woodcutting! I made all the Splitbark Helms and took off to World 2 G.E. It took me about 10 minutes to get in, but it was a major lagfest when I was in so I logged off. My plan is:
1) Buy some Animal Masks and Staves and recieve a hefty pile of junk.
2) Sell the Splitbark Helms, Meerkats Pouches (which I nabbed off another player) and possibly the Bandos Mitre to get rid of the junk!

Also, last night I got another clue (Nardah Teles, but the clue was 190k in total), and I levelled Firemaking and Attack to 79 and 82 respectively!

I'm gonna go to the Giant Mole in the early hours of tomorrow, where it will hopefully be fairly empty, in the hope of an Elite scroll. After that I'll get back to Slayer!

Well, last night at the very sane hour of 3am, I finally got a clue! It took me about 2 hours to solve, because most of the items needed for the emote clues were sold out. I hunted all over the place for a Splitbark Helm; I knew that Karl had one he was lending out to those in my situation, but he had taken a nap while leaving his Rs account logged in, so I couldn't nab his helm. However, Hubertos kindly lent me his (and gave me a random Monkfish, which I promptly nommed), and I went on my way. The reward was 7 Pheonix Lair teles and assorted Black D'hide and Rune items. I parked myself at Jellies and logged off for the night (day?).

After being assigned some manual labour by my mum (clearing the garden), I logged back in! It took about 45 minutes of Jelly time to get a clue, long after my original slaying partners had. There were a couple of puzzle boxes which I really enjoy, but the reward was yet more Pheonix Lair teles and some more assorted Rune/Black D'hide st00f.

However, I did make a nice amount of money later on! Fred Lay announced he was collecting st00f from Shade tombs, and I offered to buy all the fine cloth he got. He sold me all ten, and I promptly picked up my trusty Dragon Hatchet and hit up the Hollow trees for some Bark. After half an hour of fruitlessly trying to avoid Vampires and Leeches, I had 10 pieces, so I ringed around to the Wizard Tower and made 5 Splitbark helms! I hopped over to the Grand Exchange in World 2, and proceeded to shout my wares. I had intended to sell four of the five for 250k each, thus getting rid of my junk and keeping one in case I needed it. I actually came out with 1.4mil! I was up to 6mil cash as well!

The final part of the day I spent Firemaking, while waiting for Merch to get 84 Smithing (which she did, w00t!) so that she could assist me in making an Addy 2H sword for LordBuckyez. It turned out that she, and then later MFI, who she'd called up, had either not got the requisite Smithing level or had maxed out their assist xp. Luckily, a kind soul in Edgy Bank followed us down to the Varrock Anvil and helped me make it. LordBuckyez got his sword, and hopefully a nice clue reward, and I'm ridiculously close to 79 Firemaking!

Damn, I spent the whole day hunting for clues and didn't get a single one! I went everwhere: Jellies, Cave Horrors, Harpie Bugs, Bronze and Iron Dragons, Greater Demons. I even went to the Giant Mole, recommended as being the easiest way to obtain Elite scrolls, but the mole lair was swamped with AGSs, Claws and Dwarf Cannons.So no luck there. I did go to Black Dragons after a bit of procrastination, and although I didn't get a clue (or a visage, but that is to be expected), I did get an Ancient Effigy! Thanks to Yrrah and Karl for their nub Rc and Cooking levels, and also to the random person in Edgy bank who had both 95 Crafting AND 97 (well, 99) Smithing! I put the Dragonkin lamp on woodcutting, which will save me a good half hour cutting my wris- Ivy.
I also made a heck of a lot of money, which is always nice :) I did four herb runs and got a nice 600k profit all told, and I hunted some Graahks and made pouches to use up all my Blue Charms, which brought in a quick 530k. And I managed to get a Torstol and a couple of Snapdragon seeds from Cave Horrorz; however, their generosity in donating expensive seeds to my cause will not stop me laying waste to their kin until one drops a damn clue! However, I was extremely lucky to find somebody selling a Bandos Mitre for mid price, which I promptly bought! Much wooting echoed through Canting at that purchase!

I will continue to hunt clues for the forseable future. Lots of new items to be had; I've got my eye on the Fox mask :D

Since my cousins have been trickling in since the 10th, I've had maybe an hour of Rs time during their stay. I purchased 30k Pure ess to use at ZMI and natcrafting, with the intent of saving up for Dragon Claws, an Arcane SS and then an Elysian/Divine. It's gonna take a long time, but i'm not really motivated for getting any levels; getting cool items is more appealing.
And I saw Inception on Saturday. Personally, I thought this was one of the best films I have ever seen. My heart was literally at 100 bmp at the climax. Although complex and multi-layered (in more ways the one), part of the fun is figuring what is a dream and what is reality. Leo di Caprio is perfect for the role, and Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, among others, provide one of the strongest supporting casts in a long time. The visuals are stunning; the dreamscape is über-intense and spookily real. I've never gotten so deeply involved in a film, nor had many of the audience: many of us jumped several times!

Got 70-75 Ranged in a few hours during the weekend, and it's only Sunday morning. I'm doing a bit of fast sc for the ranged helms, and should hopefully have 80 sometime next week!

I'm currently chinning my way up to a decent Ranged level, amidst trips to the Barrows mounds in the fervent hope of some high value armour to fund my Ranged training. I'm hoping dailies and my kingdom, along with a couple of herb runs a day, will offset the cost of the chinchompas, and I hope to have 99 Ranged some time in the summer. I know that I must have decided to go for every single 99 possible, but in this post I set out a progression of goals I wanted to achieve. I've decided to stick loosely to this regimen; of course I'll train other skills in between, but ultimately, when I can't think of a distraction, I'll be chinning Mummies or Skeleton Monkeys. Then I'll find a good Armadyl team and watch the money pile up!

Violence

Today was filled with yet more violence and meaningless slaughter. I have decided to get Defence to 75 before continuing with Attack, and so I got on with that while doing my Dagannoth Slayer Task. I finished that up, left for lunch and football, then came back and got a new task, 160 Cave Horrors! I didn't get a Black Mask, but I did get two clue scrolls and I still have like 70 Horrors left! The reward for the first was crap, but the second one I got a Rune Helm H1! Only 80k, but it is a decent reward nonetheless. I polished off the Defence level at Giant Spiders...

..before heading across to Neitiznot to get the remaining 17k to 72 Strength. That level gave me 100 Combat! W00t!

After that, I hung around the G.E, trying to fund Dharok's Platelegs and Platebody. Karl asked if I wanted to do a dungeon with him, and so we hopped over to Daemonheim and did it. I also got 44 Dunge from it! I returned to the G.E. and reluctantly sold my Royal top and bottom to buy the Dharoks gear, and I am now parked at Giant Spiders with Guthans and plenty of Super sets. I am gonna try and get 75 Defence without leaving!

Chinchompas Part 1

After many days traversing Gielinor in search of riches and fame, I perchance stumbled across two gentlemen wearing the most elegant capes I had ever seen. And their armour! My, how the silvery metal flung bright colours into my eyes! Both were weilding crossbows of a metal I assumed was Runite, judging by the colour, and were followed by arcane spirits summoned from a distant plane to do their bidding. As I approached them, they halted their conversation and turned their knowledgable, far-seeing eyes upon me.
"I am sorry to interrupt, fine sirs, but I cannot help but wonder about the origins of your capes. Such elegance could not be given unto the ordinary man walking in our world"
"I acknowledge your curiosity, my friend." said the man, whom I later learned was called Felstram. " My cape displays my mastery of the art of Ranged. Upon my mastery, I was presented with this cape from the leader of the Ranged Guild, situated on the outskirts of Hemenster and Ardougne - for a small price, of course. Nothing is free in this world"
I stood there, rooted to the spot in awe. I had stumbled upon a master of Ranged! Few such masters wondered Gielinor, and were highly respected and treated with a degree of reverence no man could dream of having.
" And, if I may be so bold to enquire, how did you master the skill? Such a feat must have taken an aeon, along with an almost endless supply of energy - and money, if the clerks in Varrock speak the truth" I said this with a newfound respect for the man.
" Well, my training was helped no end by my Hunting ability. I discovered that creatures known as Chinchompas, located far south, below the misty Feldip Hills, are succeptible to spontaneous combustion if subjected to enough force. I hunted these beasts for weeks, and soon searched for a use for them as my stockpile grew dangerously large. I discovered that they can be thrown as a Ranged weapon, and that they damage foes when they explode. Experience is thus gained, and the long road to Ranged mastery begins".
Awed by his words, I murmured my thanks and went on my way. I glanced back to see them both dissapear in a swirl of elemental energy. Shaking my head in disbelief, I walked on.

I spent the next few days journeying to the white city of Falador. At last, after passing through the gates of the druidic town of Taverly, the iron gates of the city loomed. I entered, nodding at the guards, who for all the world looked as timid as frightened rabbits. I deposited my belongings at the nearby bank, took a seat on a bench and rested, weary after my journey. After a while, a man dressed in fabulous armour of a menacing red hue appeared by the statue plinth in Falador square. I marched over to him, and he turned to face me.
"Sorry to bother you, but can you be so kind as to direct me to the hunting grounds of the Chinchompa? I hear they are located below Feldip"
"Aye, and if you go down there and return you must be guarded by Guthix himself." The man removed his fearsome helmet and intoduced himself as Baldor. "Fierce Larupias stalk the dense jungle the Chinchompas inhabit, and the threat of ogres is always present. However, I know the location of the creature you speak of, but it would be a long and arduous walk. Here, take this ring. Simply rub it whilst thinking of the A.R.M.S Command Centre, which is but a short walk away".
With that, he gave me an emerald ring. I slipped it on and looked up to thank him, but he had disappeared. 'A shame the inhabitants of Gielinor could not act as he had, I thought. It seems this behaviour is becoming less and less common, with ignorance and obstinance taking it's place'

Shaking myself away from such thoughts, I rubbed the ring while repeating the destination Baldor had mentioned in my head. A sudden burst of energy enveloped me, and I found myself at the entrance to the Command Centre. A Spirit Tree stood proudly nearby, but beyond it I could hear the shrieks of wolves and the war cries of Ogres. A strange, high-pitched sound echoed from the north. Upon further investigation, I discovered a lone warrior slaying a fearsome worm type creature. I hurried on, eager to begin the hunt.

Slowly bringing everything to 70+. Got Farming, Agility, Mining, Defence and Crafting all lined up to be pushed past that post, then I'll probably focus on getting enough money to get Herblore, Summoning, Prayer and Construction there as well. Smithing, Runecrafting and Slayer are creeping up, but I forsee much buying of Gold Ore to smelt in light of the requirement for the next Wise Old Man quest.
Did Monkey Madness today! Messed up on the greegrees, but the boss fight was simple, and after the quest I made my Ninja Greegree (after dying and having Pie come to my aid) and tried out Ape Atoll Agility! And...it sucks for my level! After about 10 minutes I had about 3k xp, so I'll be sticking to the Wildy until 75 when I don't fail that course.

Serjeant Armmadylo: The Quest for Lord Marshall uniform

Spent the whole day doing Mobilising Armies and I barely noticed the time fly by! This is my favourite minigame by far, and I played so much that I am now Rank 62! Only 238 more until Lord Marshall! But I did manage to do something I've been wanting to do for ages, which is achieve full Serjeant Uniform! And it looks soooo cool!

As you can see I now have one out of the four outfits I need to complete that little section! Hopefully I will achieve it in the next few weeks!

Canting's New Generals

Forgot about this yesterday, but when I was killing Cave Horrors in the hope of a Black Mask (didn't get one, but I did get a clue, useless reward though), Rafftank and TheArcturus1 were promoted to Generals in Canting, Merch's Clan Chat. I think that they are great choices for generals, and so many congratz to you! A lot of talk has taken place in the last couple of days about the future of the chat, and I want to offer my opinion, which is

KEEP IT AS IT IS
Canting is fine just how it is! Jagex will release the seperate clan/friends list, so if we can just wait then all will be fine!

Epic day of levelage

Today was crammed with epicness! I started off by finishing my Bloodveld task and going to Chaeldar, who gave me 152 Fire Giants. Not long after starting to kill them in the Waterfall dungeon, I got 57 Slayer!

I stayed until the very end without leaving, with just a full inventory of sharks and Egghebrecht's Saradomin Gosword, which he graciously lent to me for 24 hours yesterday, and which has only just gone back to him! It is a beautiful weapon and I am going to save up over the summer to get one! I also got 81 Attack, which also gave me 98 Combat!

This is a great level for me, because of this:

I've never felt so motivated to get a 99! Slayer is really giving training an exciting edge, and I am looking forward to getting that cape!

After all that, I hopped over to Summona, who tasked me with 130 Hellhounds. I killed around 40 of them, and got 58 Slayer!

However, I soon got bored, did my penguins and got 50 Prayer!

I went off to do some pest control, and while there saw some manic happenings at one of the portals:

Took us about 5 minutes to get rid of enough spinners to kill the portal!

I also spotted my second Kingly Impling:

The guy who caught it got a Royal Sceptre!

Last, but not least, I took my ass down to Rogue's Den and polished off that cooking level!

Another skill hits 70!

Well, I have a lot of revising to be doing in the next couple of weeks, so my playing time will be limited. I'll get on for Farming runs, but that is just about it until the 14th of June, when my exams end! Then it will only be 2 weeks until school ends!

I drew Full of Pie

I had no homework, and in class I had been doodling various people in Canting that I had met. I drew one of Full of Pie, and I kinda liked it. And yesterday, she bought a Bandos Chestplate (W00t!), so I thought 'That will make a wicked picture!' So I took out a pencil and some sheets of paper, and after around two and a half hours I had done the pictures! Now, this was the first draft, apart from a few faces that I screwed up. I think it looks quite good, but that is my own opinion and I just hope you enjoy it!

I tried to leave as much as I could in black and white, since that is my principle drawing style, but there are some things which simply couldn't not colour in, like the flippers, the Chompy headdress and the Agility Cape.

Well, its kinda late, so I'm heading off for bed

Been spending my time making money recently. Finished off one thousand tuna potatoes and sold them for a nice 1.2mil profit, and I've just bought another 1k. Done some Green Dragons and Whiteberries, and I've also been regularly farming Avantoes. Hoping to get a Saradomin Godsword some time in the next couple of months.

Also achieved 69 Cooking, 67 Farming and 71 Strength in the last few days. My goal of full Void is being put on hold for a bit while I make some cash.

Before we go further, I have a few pictures from CJ's 99 Cooking party, which took place yesterday. Congratz again!

So on to today. Well, yesterday, I bought 500 Avantoe seeds, which will bring in some steady profit over the coming few months. I also watched a Tormented Demons Solo video on Youtube, and it kinda made me want to do them! I looked up a couple of Tormented Demon Drop Logs on the RSOF, and it seems that the drop rate is around 1/150-1/250, which, for something worth 30mil at the worst of times, seems like a very good deal! The recommended equipment is Void with Melee and Ranged helms, so today I spent a fair bit of time at Pest Control, building up points, and I managed to buy a Void Melee helm! I am going after the rest of the outfit before getting the other helm, so I have the benefit of the bonus while playing for the Ranged helm.
Also, on a whim, I bought 1k pats of butter, baked potatoes and cooked sweetcorn, and together with my tunas I am making 1k Tuna Potatoes. It will bring me a profit of over 1.2 million gp, so it is all good.

I also did a bit of combat today! I spent a lot of time at Giant Spiders, and I was rewarded with two completely awesome levels, 80 Attack and 75 Constitution! (No pic of the HP level)

The next few days I will be doing Pest Control and Giant Spiders. The Tormented Demon guide called for Attack, Strength, Hitpoints and Ranged levels of 90, so I will be focussing on those levels, as well as some Farming and other stuff on the side.

Mixing it up

A lot of the time recently, I have found myself loitering around banks, unsure about which activity I should do. Should I chop some Ivy? I am close to a level, but it's just so boring. Shall I kill Green Dragons? I need the money, but I can't be bothered to hop worlds and battle with other obnoxious players for a good spot. How about a minigame? They're fun, but after playing them I often feel like I have just wasted time that could have been better used for skilling and making money. But when I go to redeem myself by doing one of the aforementioned activities, I find myself bored within 15 minutes.
So I was thinking: How do I 'mix it up' so to speak? How can I relieve myself from the boredom that constantly hangs over me like a rain cloud whenever I log in? So I came up with several methods that will break the monotonous road to greatness. I want to share them with the world, becuase I know there will come a time in everybody's Runescape career where they feel exactly the same.

1) Buy Volatile Tools. This is genuinely the best way to mix up skilling. I tried it once, on a whim, and that one tool made me do skills that I really dislike training, such as Construction, Smithing and Mining. And the xp was great! It is not good if you want a continuous flow of experience into your skills, but it did give me a short, sharp burst of speed in my training. I highly recommend this for people who are training a skill to 99, because it is a fun way to spend a break from a skill, whilst also giving your other skills a welcome boost.

2) Randoming. This is where you select a random activity to choose by various mundane methods. One that I like to do is turn the keyboard upside down, close my eyes and type two random keys into the Quick Chat finder. The first thing that comes up, after any repeats necescary, will be the thing that I occupy myself with for the following couple of hours. For instance, typing 'rr' comes up with 'Attack the Barricades!' This is your cue to train Attack. Typing 'bu' comes up with 'Bail out some water with a bucket!' This is an obvious hint to go and play some Fishing Trawler.
Another way of randoming is scrolling through your bank with your eyes closed and selecting a random object, which will point to your next activity. Just withdrawn a piece of Void? Go play Pest Control! A raw chicken? Do some cooking! Of course, the items are open to interpretation, such as the chicken, which could mean killing chickens or cooking, but it doesn't matter. In fact, the way you interpret the item is a plus, as it gives you a small choice while still doing a random activity.
The third way of randoming is Skillcape finding. Teleport to a random destination, and run around. The first Skillcape you see will be the Skillcape of the skill that you will go and train! Seeing a Skillcape that you like can also give you some good motivation in training a skill.

3) Objectives. This one is pretty self explanetory. Simply open up the objectives tab, and click 'Random Objective'. Scroll through and pick whichever one you fancy. Don't ruin the point by continously scrolling through to find the activity you want to train. Be honest with yourself and you will have a lot more fun. And if you are looking for a certain thing in the Objectives, why not just go out and do it?

Ok, so there are my tips on staying fresh and motivated in Runescape. They work for me, and I hope they work for you too :D

Of Stars and Fairies

Well, today was pretty much stars and more stars. I woke up early, so I logged on to find a Frem/Lunar star falling soon. I geared up, and on my first checkpoint, the Relleka mining spot, I found a fresh s1 star! I got a free 5k xp for the tag, and set about mining it. I was joined by a few others, and we quickly delved into that dust and released the tubby! I then logged off to do some chores (sigh) and when I logged back in to check my scope, BAM! Kharidian desert, 0-7! Rafftank had just asked me if there were any stars falling, and so I spluttered out the good news and raced off to prepare. As it landed, I jumped on my broom, but I also saw a long line of 'omgomgomg' in the cc, which meant that the star had landed at Duel Arena and Raff had got the tag! It was a whopping size 8, so we had to wait around while some pros helped us out, but much fun was had!

After that, I got a bit sick of having no money (putting some nice trees in my garden had brought me down to 411gp), so I reluctantly sold my Dragon Pickaxe and bought a whole host of stuff, including a Saradomin Sword, Dragon Boots and a Dragon Hatchet. I did a bit of Woodcutting, but then I had a strange urge to go pking! I bought a load of noob gear off the G.E, and hopped over to a Bounty World. Here are the pure stats:

I am not a born pker it seems. I checked out the stats of those who beat me, and they all seem to have a high Strength level, and then a pathetic total level. One guy I fought had a Strength level of 93, and then a total level of 1182! It makes me pretty proud to be 96 Combat and have over 1600 total level :D Oh, I got another 3 Dungeoneering levels from penguins today, bringing that up to 36! I also got a Defence level that I was pretty close to as well.

I also did a Barrows run, where I managed to complete it starting with 49 Prayer points and no prayer potions! The final fight with Verac was nailbiting, coming down to the last shark. I got junk from the chest, but it was pretty exciting stuff!

Well, most probably I'll just be doing stars for the next week during school, and then on the weekend I'll go the final stretch and finish of the little goal of 70 Mining that I have planned.

Oh, and todays Twitter Hint is - Next week in #RuneScape: An update to sink your teeth into...~Ems(RSDev). Here is my theory:

FAIRY TALE PART 3 - Teeth? Tooth? Tooth fairy? Fairy? Of course! It's Fairy Tale part 3! There was a sneaky hint at the end of the last Development Diary about this quest, and it was something along the lines of 'Don't forget to brush your teeth'. I hope this is the update, because the last few quests have been nooby and pretty poor to be honest, and the rewards are supposed to be super cool! Too bad I haven't done the 2nd part yet...

Starry Eyed

Today, I have literally done nothing but hunt down and mine stars. I have already done four, and at the time of writing I am busy scoping my fifth. I usually go onto seemingly empty worlds, so the stars usually last over an hour each. Then I will run around doing nothing much until the next one arrives. I did manage to power through with Mining though, achieving these levels!

I also (badly) edited a picture of a star I did with some fellow Canters, so here it is :)

In other news, yesterday I managed to power through Construction levels, ending up with level 60 and 1600 total level! No pics, cos I was feeling so ill yesterday (still am).

Mining!

Well, the Farming goal has been put on hold temporarily. I ran out of cash when I purchased a Dragon Pickaxe that will be the driving force that will get me to....(drumroll please)....99 Mining! Yes, I know it will take a long time, but I don't really have much time to play this term, so if I can get to 80 then I will be in the Living Rock Caverns, where 100% attention is not needed. Anyway, today I got 64 Mining!

I am now really getting into Star mining. When I log on I will usually teleport to my house and check my telescope for the next star. Unfortunately, I only have a Wooden Telescope, so I have just spent my remaining 1m gp on buying enough Oak Planks to get to 60 Construction, thereby killing two birds with one stone as I will get another skill 60+ and will also be able to replace my wooden scope with a much more acurate Teak scope!

New outfit and Twitter hint

Well, apart from a Divine Spirit Shield, a Green Partyhat and a Farming Cape, my new outfit is complete! After spending aaaaggggeeesss ranging Giant Spiders, puncuated by a level 2 Clue Scroll (useless reward, about 8.5k in all), a few games of Soul Wars and a trip to the God Wars dungeon with Arct, in which I managed to get myself killed in the Bandos area, losing various items including freaking DRAGON BOOTS and a ROYAL SCEPTRE! I worked my ass off to get enough wergali for that sceptre >:( Although, when I was through the Bandos door, I kept clicking the door to exit, and it kept saying something along the lines of 'Your familiar is too far away from you to use that scroll'. It is a very dangerous glitch and I reported it straight away. Anyway, I pulled through and managed to get 70 Ranged!! Of course, this meant that I could wear my complete new outfit, bar the ridiculously unreachable items detailed previously. So hear is a pic!

I look a bit stoned in that pic :D Anyway, I got 67-70 Ranged this weekend, as well as 45 Herblore! Legends here I come! Actually, I really enjoyed working on the weekend towards my little goal of 70 Ranged. I have decided to do that every weekend from now on. On the Friday, I will look over my stats and set a little goal for myself. I think my goal for this weekend will be 76 Fishing, for Sharks, and perhaps 70 Cooking, since I am pretty close to the Fishing level anyway. I have also decided to simultaneously try to get 99 Farming. Totting up the xp and costs of seeds, I figured that I will need 2000 Willow and Curry Tree seeds, as well as 300 Calquat seeds, to reach 99. Actually, that will leave me around 200k short, but I am relying on getting that extra xp through seeds from nests and any future bonus xp days that we have. All in all, 99 Farming will cost me 20mil. I am really looking forward to getting it! Although, even planting every day, I will not get it until around July 2011. However, I like the idea of gaining xp even when I am not playing, and I only have to log in for 10 minutes each day for a farming run. 99 Farming will be mine in no time! Well, not no time, but it is coming. Watch this space. You will probably have to watch it for about a year and a half, so bring something to keep you occupied.

Today I logged on and, whilst trying to decide on what to engross myself in, found myself a bit bored with simply training one skill. I decided to go and quest! I saw a really cool outfit a few days ago, and I was trying to copy it :D The Helm of Neitiznot is part of that outfit. So I tied up some loose ends and completed The Fremenik Isles!
I also completed Shield of Arrav and Heroe's Quest with the help of none other than A Ex Noob! He asked me if i was in the Pheonix gang, and I said that I hadn't even done Shield of Arrav. He told me that he could do it on his skiller, and so he logged off, logged on and we began! After a bit of confusion over keys and storgage rooms, we had it done! Then he logged onto his main and we proceeded to do Heroes. It was a fun quest, if a little boring plot wise (some back story would be nice) and I can finally use Dragon Maces and Battleaxes! I got a screenie with A Ex Noob:

Right now I am trying to get 70 Ranged to complete my outfit. I will post a pic of the outfit when I get the level. Trust me, it is cool :D

The moon people

Today I decided to finally complete Lunar Diplomacy after months of being just Crafting level away. I bought 285 silver bars, and after the 285 tiaras I had the level! I got started with the quest immediately, and I really enjoyed it. The dialogue was entertaining, and I thought it would be longer than it actually was, which is a plus! On the way, somebody called 'A ex noob' sent me a message saying that he read had read my blog and he had recognised me! That was the first time somebody has recognised me from my blog, and it felt really good! I promised I would give him a mention, so A Ex Noob, here it is!

After completing the quest, I messed around with the Lunar spells, but then I had to go and do some last minute homework, since school starts tomorrow. I won't be able to get on RS that much for the next two and a half months, so there won't be many blog posts. But after that, it's the summer holidays, where I have a lot of great plans and I'm really looking forward it.

Today I got back on track with 99 Woodcutting! After almost 4 months of neglect, I am back on it, and I gained nearly 250k xp today! I got the xp down to around 130k till when this happened, and then Merch and I went and duo'ed a dungeon together! It was great fun. We, well, Merch was very organised, arranging different items in piles in the Smuggler's room, i.e food in one pile, runes in another next to the altar, charms, logs, armour etc. It took us about an hour, but it really was a fun time! I got Promethium Full Helm and Gauntlets as a drop, but the stingy smuggler only paid 6k for the pair >:( However, we managed to explore every room and kill (almost) every monster, and the final boss, a level 162 Luminescent Icefiend, proved no match for us. We dodged *most* of the special attacks, and came out the winners! It really showed me what I was missing doing it solo, and I managed to get to 29 D'eering!

After that, it was back to Woodcutting. I whittled away the xp chatting to the writer of SapporGenitor's Blogg, and finally I got it!

Congrats Merch Gwyar on 90 Woodcutting! Welcome to the elite!

Today, in the hunt for strange rocks, Merch Gwyar passed into the land of the 1337. She got 90 Woodcutting! I managed to take a quick break from my own woodcutting to be there when she got the level. Of course there were the inevitable level up and emote syncing screenies XD!

D'eering and another goal

Well, today, I did some Dungeoneering, but mostly I sped ahead with my new goal - 99 Attack! I have the whole outfit except for the cape and the Dragon Full Helm! I'm gonna look beastly :D I got 78 Attack today, giving me the right to weild the Ancient Warrior's weapons. Only 2 more levels until I can weild everything in the game (excluding weapons in Daemonheim)!

Right now I am 110k til 79. I played some Stealing Creation today, and got 5 or so helmets, to speed things up. I also spotted my penguins and did the circus (and got 71 Magic). I am now up to 24 D'eering, very close to being on the hiscores. Not a very interesting day, but a good day nonetheless.

Dungeoneering - Day 2

I am really loving Dungeoneering. So much so that I am training all my other skills simply to access more stuff under Daemonheim. I now have level 19 Dungeoneering, from only a couple of hours of play. It really does speed up the further ahead you get. A lot of people are saying variations of 'OMFG Jagex you f**ked us again this ain't a skill it's a minigame the rewards take too long wtf is true mastery omfg this skill takes too long'. And it's all crap. The new weapons are not even a tiny bit of what motivates me to do Dungeoneering. Neither is getting all skills X+. It is the sheer enjoyment of soloing a boss, of finding an untouched niche of Zephryium ore, of finding two Web Snipper spots right next to the Smuggler. It's so new and exciting.
Today was pretty eventful. I did Dungeoneering of course, but during the course of the 10 or so dungeons, I managed to achieve 53 Smithing, 61 Cooking and 66 Farming! I am now camped at Giant Spiders at 30k till 78 Attack, and then I'm right back to Daemonheim for hours of fun. Here are a couple of pics I took in the dungeon.

The New Skill - Dungeoneering

Well, the new skill came out today, and I have to say, it didn't dissappoint. It manages to incorporate all the other skills and not seem too cluttered. The dungeons, items, armour et al are graphically excellent, and the gameplay is entertaining and longlasting.
To access this skill, you have to get the ship to the west of Al-Kharid bank. This will take you up to Daemonheim, the Wilderness Castle that people have been puzzling over for weeks. Upon entering, you run up to the top of the mountain and have a chat with the tutor. You can then start! Create a party and invite people, join another party, it's up to you. The difficulty increases as you go down, as does the involvement of other skills. At Complexity 5, for example, Hunter and Summoning are introduced. You must go throughout the dungeon, collecting keys to unlock all the doors. A boss monster lies in wait at the end, and upon its demise you move onto the next dungeon. As you progress, you gain more Dungeoneering xp.
I logged in with the hope of a new dungeon and monsters, having interpreted the Twitter Hint. As the page loaded up, I looked at the screen. The new skil. Oh. My. GOD! This is the update that we have been waiting for for years! I logged on as fast as I could, and you've never seen someone leg it onto that ship faster. I went through the dialogue, looking at the new skillcape (Orange with brown or black trim), and went off to start a game! I ended up in a trio, with jongunner and XLSTRIKERXL. There wasn't a lot of cooperation, and after about an hour and a half, XLSTRIKERXL left. That left me and jongunner, and we managed to do another 5 or so dungeons when I decided to take advantage of the empty skilling spots. I had, though, reached level 10 Dungeoneering! Here is a pic of the armour that you can wear:

That is Maramos melee armour. The armour and weapons have requirements reaching right up to level 99! The details on the game itself can be found here, and details on the rewards here, which include damage reducing shields, new prayers, and a maul capable of dealing more damage than a Godsword!

After 10 Dungeoneering, I left to do a herb run. Upon the way I encountered the cutest names I've ever seen in the game!

I also managed to get into an empty Fish Flingers game, and I managed to get 3 combos at 100% by myself! The xp from that took me to 73 Fishing! Levels that I have gained in recent days include 77 Attack and 62 Mining. I am going to continue with Dungeoneering on the weekend when the hype has died down a little. For now, I am trying to get to 90 Fishing.

Of Barrows and Fishing

A few days ago, a fellow canter, Sacrosanct, introduced me to Barrows. He gave me all the needed gear, checked my inventory and worn items, and then we were off! I managed 1 run with all my gear, but it was still much better, less nerve-wracking and more enjoyable than my previous trips! I've been doing the odd Barrows run every day, and today I got my first Barrows item, Verac's Flail! It sold for a cool 300k, and I was very pleased with the profit!

I've also been doing a fair amount of Fishing outside Otto Godblessed's house. The xp is rolling in in a chilled, relaxed fashion, enabling me to edge closer to Cavefish and Rocktail, whilst also being able to get on with some school work. I've also been doing Fish Flingers on a regular basis, and I have met some really cool people! I did a couple of games with Merch today, and she certainly was very helpful to have on the team, always retelling the 100% combos to anybody who needed them. In one game I managed to get 2 out of the 6 combos! I am now 30k till 73 Fishing, and the xp from both activities is really rolling in!

I have hit a hump in terms of my Hunter goal. I need to do a lot of school work, and Hunter requires a lot of attention. I may try to get 74 in the next couple of days, but I'm really enjoying my freedom of activity. Today I played a game of Stealing Creation and purchased a Volatile Tool. During the course of it's life, it turned into a hammer (several times), a couple of fletching knives, a butterfly net and a pickaxe. It was very enjoyable time, and I even managed to persuade Merch to try!

The last few days I have been doing a variety of things. I have some pictures of some of my more recent exploits, so I'll throw them up for you to see.

I took part in a game of Fish Flingers where I was the only one playing! I managed to get 4 out of the 6 fish at 100% efficiency rating, due to the great strategy given here.

In another game that I took part in I got 4th place. I am slowly but surely building up a solid reputation in the Fishfling clan chat, which really shows that a strong sense of community really is present in some areas of the game.

Of course, over the last few days I have been hunting. I have managed to get to 73 Hunter today! I also had some memorable moments, including catching my first imp, catching my first Magpie and Ninja Implings, spawning a Dragon Impling in Impy Imps (Impetuous Impulses is too long :P), and catching my first Pawya, which also gave me a papaya seed!

Other recent levels I have gotten are 65 Agility, 70 Strength and 71 Fishing. I am particularly happy about the Strength level, which is another over the line in terms of all levels 70+, and also means that I can weild all of the Barrows weapons that I previously could not.
I also had the luck to chat to Silentc0re in game. He was really cool! Meeting new people is something that has been lacking from my gameplay forever, so I am really spending as much time as I can online to chat!

One thing that has been bugging me recently is money. I price checked myself to find that I am hovering around 22m gp, and this annoyed me because I had the same worth about 4 months ago! So I've decided to aim for a level and an item that both involve money, and those are 99 Construction and a Spectral Spirit Shield. With Stealing Creation hammers, the total cost combined for the two is about 200m, but I will probably end up not using many hammers at all, so the cost will likely be around 250m. To increase my cash I bought 100 Ranarr seeds for about 3.5m cash today, and I have already planted 20 seeds. This will bring in a profit of around 3-3.5m, assuming I get 7 herbs per patch on average. I can easily do this in a week. I also cut a few sets of Magic Logs, and I am working on bringing my Hunter closer and closer to 88, so I can spend days just hunting Kingly Implings, and also my Fishing to 85/90, so that I can go into the Living Rock Caverns and catch the gloriously expensive fish that reside in the dark recesses of those caves. So that is the plan for the next few months. In the last 6 days I have gotten around 700k Hunter xp, and I am straining away at the computer, milking my Esater break for as much Hunter xp as possible in order to get as close as possible to 88 before term starts. Then, hopefully, the money will start rolling in! Pickaxes, nets, ropes and rods

I logged on late today, and I was 20k away from 69 Hunter, so of course I saw out Larry's timer and got the level.

I also caught my first Magpie Impling, getting 2 Runite Bars as loot!

After that I bought more Wergali off Full of Pie at Gnome, and then hit up a Keldagrim star.

I managed to get 195 dust, most of it while I was on the phone to my aunt. As I said, I do love my aunt, just not when I'm playing RS :D After the star I teled to the Fishing Guild to discover that the next Flingers game started in 15 minutes, so I hung around and got 51 Thieving on the local Master Farmer (No screenie)
I played the game, enjoying myself hugely, and somehow managed to come 3rd!

I also managed to get around 20k Fishing xp, bringing me to 25k to 71 Fishing. Wasn't that the same xp till 70 yesterday?
Of course, I went back to red sallies, and after a persistent hour and a bit of netting those stoopid creatures, I finally had 70 Hunter!

I am now 52k till 71 Hunter! Man it is fast! I have decided that I am going to be taking it to 99. My reasons being the incredible money at 91+ from Kingly and Dragon Implings, the hawt cape-with-a-paw-on-it, and the fact that it is fast, efficient and great money all at the same time!

Party Fling

Today started off with me getting 67 Hunter!

I can now hunt black sallies! I tried them out, but it was too dark so I decided not to train on them. After that I was alerted to an evil tree, which turned out to be a normal. I got a decent amount of xp from the tree and the lep magic.
After that, I decided to finally get 70 Fishing, so I carted off to Shilo to get it!

After that, Merch called into Canting that a Fish Flingers game was about to start. I'd never been and I wasn't doing much, so I hopped over to the Fishing Guild. Merch patiently explained the rules, and I had a lot of fun, gaining around 16k Fishing xp and unlocking three new tracks!
Of course, I got the itch to go back to Hunter, and so out came Larry and I was off to Red Sallies. About an hour later I had 68 Hunter! Unfortunately I pasted over the screenie. Another Evil Tree was tracked down in W84, and it turned out to be an Elder! I got a ton of xp from it, and along with the Lep Magic I'm down to 260k to 88 Woodcutting!

I played another game of Fish Flingers after that, and I am now 46k to 71 Fishing.
I went back to red sallies and managed to get it down to under 25k xp till 69 when I realised that I would be able to make Kitt Fox's 99 Ranged and a maxing of her combat stats party after all! A kandarin star was falling, and it was at the monastery, so I teled over and mined away. The party started just after that, so I popped to the bank to get Kitt a present (3 Mint Cakes) and jumped into her wonderful house! After about 10 minutes of waiting, she levelled up her Ranged for the last time with an xp lamp!

She went along to the Ranged Guild to get her sparkly new cape-with-an-arrow and I got a pic of the emote!

Then we went back to her house and battered each other in the combat ring! I managed to defeat Kitt, Full of Pie and Merch Gwyar (several times :P) among others, but I did get owned a lot as well. After that we headed down into the dungeon where I got stuck in the cage due to my inherently nooby Thieving level. I had to head off after that, but it certainly was a party to remember!

Hunting like a hula

Today was another great day. I can't believe how much Runescape has improved with my ability to chat! I can now train at red sallies non-stop and have buzzing conversations to keep me entertained.
I started off as usual hunting red sallies. I finished Larry's timer and got 66 Hunter! I can now catch Pawyas and wear spottier capes! I was particularly excited about the latter, as I had always looked upon those with spottier capes with respect. As I was banking at Mobilising Armies, the Spirit Tree kindly informed me that there was a strange sapling at Varrock. I located it just above the G.E.; it was a maple and I got a lot of xp! Merch Gwyar and Kitt Fox were also there. I then spent my 16 minutes of Lep magic cutting oaks outside Castle Wars. I was looking through my stats when I saw my Woodcutting; I immediately leapt away and took a screenie!

I informed Canting about my Hunter level, and Merch Gwyar offered me a spottier cape! We were in the same world, so we met at the G.E. She gave me 3 capes, 'one for my house and two for my bank'. I gave her a cup of tea and a ruby in return. Of course, I had to get a pic!

I decided to go hunt Magpie Implings, seeing as I had the level and they are worth over 30k! I discovered that Mos'le Harmless has a ton of implings flying all over it, but I was three quests short of discovering it: Zogre Flesh Eaters (piece of cake), Rum Deal, and Cabin Fever, which I loved, being a big fan of the Pirates of teh Caribbean films. I took out my Magic Butterfly Net, a Jar Generator, some Tuna and some Energy Pots, and ran around the Jungle Horrors looking for Implings. I got bored quite quickly, but I did manage to get 2 Crimson Charms from a Spirit Impling and a Torstol Seed from a Nature Impling! I spotted a Ninja, but I don't have the level. There were three of us hunting them, one having 67 Hunter and the other 94. The latter offered to leave us the Magpies in return for us reporting the prescence of Dragons or Kinglys. But I soon got bored, so I thanked the other two and went back to Red Sallies. I am now around 13k to 67 Hunter, which I will get tomorrow, hopefully along with some more Hunter Levels! I'm trying to get 88 for Kingly Implings, but Hunter has become my favourite skill, so I am considering taking it to 99.

The best day

Today was simply the best day I've had in Runescape. Ever. It started off with me regaining my full chat ability. I then logged into Canting and was immediately loving it! I chatted for a bit, and then I had some RL business to attend to. Around an hour later I came back home and logged in! I was at the Red Salamanders, and so I quickly finished up my Larupia's timer and got 63 Hunter! (Unfortunately I pasted over the screenie) After that, I did a bit of Gnome Restaurant. I now have 27 Mint Cakes which won't sell on the G.E. >.> I decided to go back to Red Salamanders as I was aiming to get 66 Hunter for Pawyas. I took out another Larupia and headed back. After around half an hour, I had 64 hunter!

I was chatting to Lil Vic about Wergali and Rares (very informative), and, just at that time, a Kingly Impling sped past!

As you can see I am frantically telling Lil Vic about it, and he managed to hop and catch it! He decided not to open it, but had a misclick at the bank and accidentally looted it. He got 49 D Bolts, which sucked for him :(
Anyway, I was chatting in Canting when Full of Pie mentioned she was farming Wergali. I offered to buy them, explaining that I was collecting 1.5k Wergali (unf) potions to buy Full Royal clothing. So we met at the Catherby farming allotment and did the trade. But I had to get a picture for this blog, and Pie happily obliged!

After that, I did some Impetuous Impulses. Krazy Karl5 wanted to borrow a Saradomin Sword, so I hopped to his world and killed Goblins while he finished his Waterfiend task. Somehow I managed to get a Clue Scroll! The loot was about 5k, but it was still funny because it was so unexpected. I asked Pie if there were any stars falling, because my nooby oak telescope sucks, and she said there was a Piscatoris/Lleyta/Gnome star in around 1 hour. I ummed and erred over what to occupy myself with for that time, and then Helm360 shouted into Canting that he was struggling in the Sorcoress' Garden. I hopped along, and he soon had the hang of it! I got a couple of Autumn Squ'irk juices, and headed across to Draynor to pilfer the Master Farmer's pockets for the final 4k till 51 Thieving after satisfying Osman's thirst in return for some Thieving Knowledge. Pie was there too, trying to get the Thieiving stones for Shattered Heart. Soon after, I left to go to Piscatoris because the star was falling in around 10 minutes and I wanted to get some Iron mined. Indeed, it landed at Pisc! I was happy, and I managed to get 186 stardust and a sizeable chunk of xp before the Star Sprite emerged.

Present are Full of Pie, Dr Levithian, Kitt Fox and myself, along with some others. Pie is the one in the Mime Mask, and she is wearing her kick ass Thieving costume!

After the star, I updated my G.E. bids on a tip off from a fellow star miner. After that, I decided to once again turn my attention to Hunter. I headed off to Red Sallies with ever-faithful Larry the Larupia in tow, and I managed to get 65 Hunter! Again I pasted over the screenie >:( After that level, I said my goodbyes and logged off. What a wonderful day!

Here are my March hiscores. I have gained over 40 levels in March, mainly due to Bonus xp weekend and a spot of training of my nooby levels, such as Thieving and Herblore. But that's not the good news. The good news is.....................
I CAN SPEAK!!NO MORE QUICK CHAT!! I can finally use full chat! I was browsing the forums, and it asked me to confirm my date of birth. I did just that, and when I logged on I had a new message telling me I can speak! I will probably be in Merch Gwyar's clan chat, having read so much about it, but I'll probably just wonder around listening to all the wonderful convertsations that I missed for the last 6 months!

Hey guys, I'm back! After a good few weeks laying off Runescape and blogging, I'm back and ready to go! I have a few things to talk about, so let's get started.

Bonus Xp Weekend
I know this was a while ago, but I took part in it and was astounded. I managed to tally up so many levels, and I played 7 hours over the weekend, which is well over what I usually play. I acheived:
6 Farming Levels, from 59 to 65.
6 Summoning levels, from 52 to 58.
5 Firemaking levels, from 71 to 76.
A magic level, which got me to 67 Magic.

I only had 3 randoms. I was hoping to complete some of my unfinished costumes, but unfortunately I only got one costume event, which was Leo the Gravedigger. Overall, this was a great idea. I have already started to save up for the next one, riding on the crashing prices and snapping up some great deals. When the next one comes around I will sell a lot off and make a ton of cash!

Easter Event 2010

I just completed this now. It was the most fun I've ever had in a quest! The puzzles were fun, the managing of the factory a bit challenging but still manageable and extremely enjoyable. Overall, I think this is easily the best holiday quest there has been. And the rewards! I managed to complete the factory puzzle in 11 turns (CLUE- for the first 7 turns, build up resources and get to 9 workers. Don't make any produce. Once you have about 15 of each resource, place three workers on each produce and in three turns it is finished!), and for that the reward was made extra special. I recieved a pair of squirrel ears, which do two thing.

First of all, there is the juggle option, where a squirrel crawls over you and disappears. It is really cute and nice to watch!

The second one is even better: you can summon two squirrels!

The one in the purple circle is called Charlie, and the one in the cyan circle is called Fluffy. Those are their actual names! Charlie's dialogue is hilarious!

So, in the time between now and my last blog post, I have gotten a lot of levels. Here is a picture of my stats:

I have gotten 7 Herblore levels in the last coupla days. I am trying to decipher the Wergali/Crown/Hook situation, and I have come to the conclusion that the reason Wergali herbs and unfinished potions have a high street price is because the herb is quite rare, and Crafting potions offer the cheapest herblore xp in the game. I have 29 Wergali (unf) potions, having taken to the Brimhaven Agilty Arena and the Gnome Tortoises. I am also collecting vial packs, and when I have enough of both I will trade them for a crown. Well, that's the plan anyway :D

Well, I am trying to get 62 Hunter so I can pot up and catch Magpie Implings. I also want to get as many levels to 70 and beyond before the new skill comes out; I did that with Magic last week and I am 46k and 23k till 70 in Strength and Fishing respectively. Hopefully I will get those soon, and I want to get 70 Hunter as well. If I do get these levels, I will have 9 levels at 70+, which is cool!

I don't have enough of it. There are just not enough hours in the day to go to school, finish homework, play Runescape and write a blog about my day. Most days I simply can't play, and on the weekends I can play for a bit, but I have friends to see, football matches to play, places to go to with family, which means that the time I spend on Runescape is limited, and limited time means no blogging. And so I have decided to call time on this blog FOR THE TIME BEING!! No, I am not quitting permanently, I am just taking a break. I will probably start up again in around a month, when the Easter Holidays start, and then I will stop again when school work begins to heat up, and then I will start again in the summer holidays. I apologise to those who read this blog and (hopefully) enjoy it, but I haven't got the time to continue meaningfully.

So today, on a slightly hypocritical note, I got 87 Woodcutting. I have been slacking off, and I have had 86 for about two months, but Full of Pie's amazing achievement of 99 Agility (Woooooooot!) pushed me to get the level. I will be doing Woodcutting and Hunter as my afk and non-afk skills for the forseeable future. I will be checking trees and infusing pouches on Bonus Xp weekend, and then I will hunt non-stop to try and get to 65 or whatever.

Sorry for the news, I am exceptionally grateful to those who appreciated the time and effort I put into creating material for you guys to enjoy, but as detailed above, I simply don't have the time. I hope you understand.

Fletching!

I haven't had the time to play much or blog at all in the last week or so, and most of the time I've been on has been loitering in banks deciding what to do. Here are some pics from the last few days.

Mage Guild!

I have decided to try for 99 Fletching. I have a lot of school work, and Fletching goes great with that because I can afk. I have bought 100k Maple Logs, which will get me to 93 Fletching, then I will sell the Longs (u) and do Maples and Yews the rest of the way. I managed to get over 2000 logs cut today, and was rewarded with this!

The Bonus Weekend really caught me by surprise. It was out of the blue and kind of annoyed me, because Jagex seems to be mimicking other MMOs which have this kind of feature. However, I'm not going to complain, and I have my shedule lined up already:

1. Plant 5 Yews and 5 Papayas the day before.
2. On the day, tag all the trees to get around 150k Farming xp!
3. Use up all my charms creating pouches. I have 40 minutes of triple charms stored with Pikkenmix, and I'll be cannoning Dags to build up a nice stock of charms. I think this will get me to around 60 Summoning, which is awesome!
4. After that, I do whatever I feel like doing with the xp. Top of the list are Mining, Attack and Fishing. Probably Attack, since I want that to be 80 for the new equipment.

I am looking forward to it! I have bought 3 Dragon Hatchets in anticipation, as they were nearing the bottom of a downward curve and you can only get bonus woodcutting xp by cutting trees/Evil Trees (no Ivy), so hopefully I'll make at least 1m off that!

Slayer, Mage Training and Salarin

I didn't post again yesterday, so here is a pic I would have put had I posted. I got this level doing Lazy Slayer, i.e. hitting all the kalphites once then browsing other sites while I pwnt them.

After leaving with 5 kills left, I came back with a Rune Platebody, an Abyssal Whip and a Dramen Staff, finished off the last five, and commited suicide at the Kalphite Queen. I have a real respect for those able to slay her having bore witness to her might. Her drops don't match her power!
Today I decided to go back to the good old Mage Training Arena. I had spent a lot of time, and Magic levels, there when I was a newb, and I wanted to pay it another visit and see how the xp is. I looked in my bank for my Pizzaz hat thingy, and to my immense annoyance it wasn't there. I had hundreds of Telekentic pizzaz points on there, because that is the most boring one, and at least 100 of everything else. That only served to increase my anticipation, and I went and got a new one and dove (dived?) straight in! The enchantment chamber was first up, and I managed to clock over 200 Pizzaz points before getting a tad bored. Then I went into the Alchemist's playground with 35k til 65 Magic. After about half an hour, I got this!

The playground is very fast xp, and my favourite area in the Mage Training Arena. Also, every few rounds, one item can be alchemized with no runes used, so it is very cost efficient as well!
Since I was in the area, I decided to do Rune Mechanics. It was a fun, easy quest, which I beat in about 10 minutes on my own (well, with a guide for the teleporting puzzle :D). I got my Rune Guardian pet, and placed it in my menagerie, after building a mini obelisk (325k for a Marble Block? Rip off!)

I got a bit bored an dwent off IRL for a few hours, but when I came back I got an itch to make money. I looked around some blogs, and settled on Salarin the Twisted, after reading about him in Merch Gwyar's blog. Annnnnnnnnnnddd.................he's a piece of cake. Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is about. He is literally as easy as a man or a goblin. All you have to do is use Fire Strike, hit him once, and back off down the tunnel. Hit him again, and he'll start walking backwards, so keep hitting him and repeat the process if neccesary. After leaving once to get more Mind Runes, after two Sinister Keys, I returned and did a full trip. Here is my loot:

Add on to that two more Sinister Keys; that was after an hour and a bit. Salarin the Twisted is amazing, non-risky money! I will keep killing him until I have a nice stock of Sinister Keys, then I will cash them in at the chest, and sell all my herbs! TIP - Kill Chaos Druids while Salarin is dead, you get a load more herbs that way!

Well, it was a good day, and hopefully another action packed day will come tomorrow!

55 Slayer

I can now slay Turoth and weild Leaf-Bladed spears and swords, cast Magic Dart, weild the Slayer Staff, and use Broad Tipped Bolts and Arrows! I am most excited about the bolts, because they are as good as addy and very cheap!

Something I forgot to mention in Yesteday's blog: I got 71 Hitpoints at Greater Demons, which brought me to 92 Combat! Now I can left click Greaters!
Anyway, today is Wednesday, which means the Runescape Week has started! Penguins and Circus reset, and I was off to find those sneaky mammals. I managed to find 6 before getting the Slayer itch, so I went to Larry to cash in my points, bringing me to within 4k to a Slayer level, and headed off to the Slayer Tower to pwn some Bloodvelds! Within about 10 minutes I had this!

w00t! Only 1 level until allthe cool shit that happens at 55, 11 levels till Dusties and Blood Runs Deep, and (lol)39 levels until Ice Strykeworms!
Anyway, I had to restock for food, and when I came back, to my extreme happiness I was met with this within 5 minutes!

I am trying to get 99 Attack simply through Slayer, which means that if I acheive that I'll have around 85 Slayer! Hopefully 99 Attack will coincide with that level, because that would be leet pwnage!
Anyway, I will finish those fat demonic lumps they call Bloodvelds, and just continue slaying!

A charming day+ Analysis of the update!

The new update is out, and its a Distraction and Diversion! W00t! It's called Familiarisation and I'll explain how to play it, the rewards, and the pros and cons of it.

Gameplay
Once a week, you can be placed in the spirit plane by Pikkenmix (I love the name!) in the form of a variety of well known Summoning creatures. Each week, Pikkenmix can be find near a different MINI obelisk anywhere in Gielinor; you need to go to Pikkupstix (or the Distraction and Diversion locations page on Runescape Wiki :D) to get a hint on his location. Your aim is to pick up piles of spirit shards, up to a limit of 60 piles, in the 20 minute time limit.
However, it is not that simple. As soon as you enter the plane, two other Summoning creatures recognise that you are a strange entity that doesn't belong on that plane. If you move too close to them, you will lose some 'mental focus', which can be seen in a bar on the side, similar to the progress bars in Soul Wars and Fishing Trawler. The more time you spend on the plane, the more creatures will recognise you and try and stop you. Apparently it gets really hard at the end! Rewards
You can choose between two rewards: increased charm drops and a pack of tertiary Summoning ingredients. The increased charm drops allows your charm drops to be TRIPLED,depend on how many piles of shards you picked up, and it can last for a maximum of 40 minutes. This means that Rock Crabs will drop 9 Charms at a time, and Waterfiends will drop over 200 an hour if you get the full 40 minutes! The pack of Tertiarys depends on both the amount of piles you picked up and your Summoning level.

Pros
1. This can be properly attempted at any time of the week, unlike the Penguins, which can only efficiently be spotted on Wednesdays and Thursdays, perhaps Fridays.
2. It is a solo event, unlike Evil Trees and Shooting Stars, so you can always gain a good reward if you are good enough!
3. The reward can be collected at any time after you do it, although you will be hindered if you don't collect it and you try and do another weeks worth (click the link above for more details)

Cons
1. It doesn't offer straight xp, and depending on your comabt and Summoning levels, the reward may not be worth the effort.
2. You can only do it once a week, and like the circus, if you mess up then you are going to have to wait until next week to try again, potentially missing out on some valuable Summoning xp.

So there you go. Today's hint from Pikkupstix was something like 'near the moon people' which of course meant the Moonclan, and therefore also meant that I couldn't do it because I haven't even met the requirements for, let alone started and completed, Lunar Diplomacy. It's all good though, because it will reset tomorrow like all Distractions and Diversions, which means that I will be able to get a chance to do it and give you my feedback!
Today, in between working, I murdered Sumona's designated reater Demons. It was actually very productive, securing me a hefty was of Crimson charms, a few Golds, the occasional Green and a whopping 7 Blue Charms! I also managed to get the xp till 76 Attack down to 40k, and also managed to secure yet another Slayer level, bringing me to 53! I was going to put in the picture, but I pasted over it :headdesk:. I'll try to finish up that task tonight and just slay again tomorrow, along with Penguins, Circus and Familiarisation!

Sumona-ing

Well, I only managed to get around an hour and a half of Scaping today, but it was time well spent! I spent the majority of the time finishing off Sumona's Fire Giants; I managed to get over 100 Gold Charms out of a task of 183, as well as a couple of ranarrs and kwuarms, lots of gems, and four Rune Scimitars, which themselves came to 145k! It is all going towards the 'Bandos Fund' - basically Full Bandos including the godsword - but currently it costs about 81mil gp, including the boots, but I don't think I will get those, as Dragon Boots are better and way cheaper. Anyway, just after my last post I achieved 64 Defence! After that, I set the whip to train Attack, and managed to get the xp till 76 down from 125k to around 82k. I also achieved 52 Slayer! I am stepping up my combat training in preparation for the new high level dungeon and equipment promised this year!

After finishing up that task, I was feeling brave and went back to Sumona instead of Chaeldar - she gave me 148 Greater Demons! One of my preferred tasks, due to the close proximity to a bank at the Bounty Volcano, low defence, and good Crimson Charm drop rate. I will tuck into that tomorrow!
Talking of charms, the Twitter hint - 'Next week in #RuneScape: Get into the spirit of things and familiarise yourself with this charming update...' - obviously hints at a Summoning update, which Jagex said it would implement after it was slightly undermined by the Staff of Light.
I don't fully understand why, and this update would have been coming out regardless, but it is interesting speculation. Anyway, it hints at an update to charms, possibly new ways of gathering them, and perhaps some new familiars. The hint is glaringly obvious, but trusting Jagex, the update will probably be something we didn't expect.

Slayer!

Today, I realised that Slayer is not my most hated skill - it is one of my favourites! I woke up determined to get the Slayer Helmet, and as soon as I logged on, I teled to the Monastery, and pengy point'd it to 49 Slayer! Then I went to Shantay bank, and tooled up for Ichthlarin's Little Helper. I've been putting off this quest for months, but it was actually a fairly easy and enjoyable quest!
After that, I went straight into Smoking Kills. All was well until the fight with the Mighty Banshee at the end. I had gotten the Banshee voice on my first kill, and was easily beating it - until she summoned her Insectoid Assasin's to rip my to shreds. They succeeded. My Prayer had ran out, and in the few seconds I spent faffing around pressing prayers and sipping potions, I was hit for two 15s and a 20 and died. After respawning in Falador, I grabbed a house tele and went straight to Pollnivneach. Down the well and off to regain my stuff in good time - except I wasn't wearing earmuffs and my stats were completely drained. I grabbed everything and slumped exhausted to the floor in Castle Wars bank. I tooled up, checked a guide which told me to turn on Pro Ranged when the assasins start to attack, and clicked the home teleport. I didn't move. I checked my stats, and all my melee levels were 7. I didn't have any magic potions or restores, so I sat in the bank for 10 minutes waiting for my stats to restore. After that, I easily killed the Mighty Banshee and quest complete!
I checked out a guide on quick Slayer Reward points, and went off to Mazchna. As luck would have it, I got Cockatrices, which were on the Fairy Ring network. After polishing off that task, I returned and was given 57 Ice Warriors. Easy! I ring'd it to Mudskipper and set about nailing those warriors. About 15 minutes later, I got 50 Slayer! I couldn't get a pic because the warriors were still auto aggresive. I finished that task, as well as Pyrefiend and Hobgoblin tasks, all from Mazchna, before getting 183 Fire Giants from Summona, which I am about half way through. I have managed to get two levels so far, 63 Defence and 51 Slayer!

I got the Defence level at the Smokey Dungeon, and the Slayer level at the Waterfall Dungeon. Hopefully I will have the Slayer Helmet some time in the next few weeks!

After completing a Banshee task, I decided that Slayer was my worst skill. I hate it. You don't get decent combat xp or cash at a low level, and the tasks themselves take hours. I hopped to the G.E, and after seeing that my offer for a Staff of Light hadn't bought (unsurprising), I bought 2k Adamant Bolts and an Amulet of Ranging. I still have over 15m, so when that new skill comes out I'll be ready!
Also, a tip for everybody, especially Merch Gwyar - if you are reading this, it will help you out! Bring out a magpie familiar at all times except when you really need another or you aren't allowed to, like in Pest Control. You get a load of free gems, including rubies, which you can use to make Ruby Bolts (e) to help with pwning Nomad - you can do it!
I've done a bit more Pest Control, currently on 51 points out of my target of 850 for full Void and a Ranged Helm. After that, I am going to range my assignments to get 75, then its off to Black Dragons for a Visage! I met this guy who looked almost the same as me, save the hair colour and the void. That's what I will look like soon!

Strykeworms!

Well I was wrong, but I don't care! We have a new batch of Slayer creatures in Gielinor, called Strykeworms! Here is an excerpt from the Runescape article:
Three breeds of strykewyrm are known to the Slayer masters of Runescape: jungle strykewyrms (level 73 Slayer) can be found near the coast north-west of Oo’glog; desert strykewyrms (level 77 Slayer) stir the sand east of Al Kharid (over the stile by the palace); and ice strykewyrms (level 93 Slayer) churn up the ice in a cave near to where you find the Muspah (but only after you’ve completed the Tale of the Muspah). Ice strykewyrm assignments are unique to Kuradal. You will need to own a TzHaar fire cape to be assigned them, and you will need to wear a fire cape to inflict any damage.

Well, the Jungle Strykeworms drop the Hexcrest, and the Desert Strykeworms drop the True Sight, both of which can be combined with the Slayer Helmet to create the Full Slayer Helmet. These items give magic and Ranged bonuses, and are currently valued at 1.5mil each on the G.E. The Ice Strykeworms drop the Staff of Light. Here is Jagex's quote about it:

The ice strykewyrms’ unique drop, the staff of light, can be used as a slayer staff, has stats roughly equivalent to a dragon weapon, causes +15% Magic damage, has a special attack that reduces any melee damage that is received by 50% for one minute AND has a 1/8 chance of not using up runes each time a damage-dealing spell is cast with it!

The Staff of Light is valued at a whopping 10mil gp on the G.E, so this, as well as the Hexcrest and True Sight, are sure to rise phenomenally in the next couple of weeks.

I really need to work on Slayer. It is only 48, and that is pathetic with 91 Combat. These Strykworms, as well as Blood Runs Deep's 65 Slayer req and Timothy Gold reaching 97 Slayer have tipped my balance of thought on the matter. I will be ranging all assignments, for reasons explained in my previous post, and my Ranged can literally reach 99 and not affect my combat level!

Ranging, PC and Twitter

I've been training Ranged recently, with some fanatical idea about getting a Visage from a Black Dragon. I am about 15k from 65, and I have been doing a bit of Pest Control for Void. I got 33 points today before getting bored. I am now running a bit of Agility up in the Wilderness, trying to get to 85 for Gnome extended and the barehanded butterflies.
The Twitter hint is : 'Three strykes and they're out!' I think that this is the Court Cases D and D, because, after researching it I found out about 'Three Strikes law', a law in American courts. I hope it gives good rewards like the Penguins. Anyway this is a short post; i have injured my back and am not doing football for a bit, and half term is coming up, so expect more posts soon

Lady Luck + Twitter Hint

So after posting last night, I did an evil Maple next to the Soul's bane rift. Naturally I got 100% reward when the tree had 60% health, but I kept going until the end. I used my magical banking time at the oaks outside Castle Wars and got 5 Bird's Nests! And in one of those nests was..........a raven egg! I raced off to Taverly to get it incubated, and then picked it up when I logged on today! I have decided to call him Rolo :D He is a musky blue and has been loyally following me around while I play - even managing to appear in some level up pictures!
I went to Trusty Neitiznot to get Cooking up to 60, having achieved 59 Farming on my daily farming run. It went really fast and before I knew it I got this!

Rolo is patiently watching me cook, and I just made out a congratulatory cheep when I got the level! Not long after I got this...

...and this!

After that, Cooking got a tad boring, so I threw on some Ranged gear and headed over to the Yaks to finish off that Randged level.

You can just make me out by my white hair underneath my Top Hat - my signiture item! Right now, I am just getting my Cooking to 60, and then I will probably do some Firemaking or Fletching - I haven't done much of those in ages!
Quite funny actually - I just remembered about teh Twitter Hint and googled it - to find that it had been done mere seconds before! I think Emilee must have thought of it at exactly the same time I did! Here is a pic:

I think it is a massive update, but there are so many possibilities that I can't be bothered to write them all down!

Tying off loose ends

Ok, so after this morning's Farming Run, in which I achieved 58 Farming after checking my 5 Papaya Trees (Woot!), I was a bit stuck on what to do. I logged off, lunched and homeworked, read some RS blogs, and then logged back in. I checked my stats, and decided to finally get Crafting and Mining to 60. I played the lyre so beautifully that I managed to appear in Relleka, and after a quick boat ride I was making tiaras in Neitiznot. About 15 minutes later this happenned!

W00t! Now half of my skills are 60+! I then sold the rest of my unused silver bars, having overestimated a tad, and got 240k! Then I grabbed my trusty rune pickaxe, and started chipping away at the iron rocks in front of the Kandarin Monastery. Iron is just so boring, and I nearly fell asleep halfway through. I prevailed though, and to my relief and delight the fireworks flew up:

W00t! 13 skills over 60! I have decided to do all my level ups with my character dead north by clicking the compass, the pictures all look a lot better, and on a slideshow it does look cool!
After my joy wore off a little, I teleported to Taverly and did my weekly circus performance. Somehow, I managed to get an Acrobat Top and Acrobat Bottoms to complete my Acrobat set! Unfortunately, this now means that the next two cirucs performances will have to be repeats of high levels so that I can get my Ringmaster. After that it will be back to normal!

I look like I have no face!

Anyway, I am a little stuck on what to do now. I am probably going to get to 87 Woodcutting, considering I am less than 150k away. After that, I'll probably start doing a bit of Pest Control and Mobilising Armies for those outfits I promised I'd get :headdesk: (not looking forward to that!)

Back with a bang

Ok, so after an endless barrage of football training, football training and more training, punctuated at regular intervals with football matches, school, food and sleep, I finally had a chance to go on. I haven't been taking screenshots of my levels, but after hunting my penguins I finally achieved 52 Summoning today!

I completed the Fremenik Medium Diar yesterday and got 51 Summoning with the 10k lamp, and with the aid of those elusive penguins I got the use of a Birdy!
Other than that, I completed Roving Elves, and managed to get three Farming Levels, from 51-54. I have pineapple saplings to get me to 57, then Papayas so I can collect those fruits and hunt pawyas and then greenwalls when I have a decent Hunter Level! Talking of Hunter, I have moved mine up to 53 recently, and also in the mix I have gotten up to 47 Construction!
I want to collect enough Gold Charms to get me to 57 Summoning, then I am going to Grahhk Runecraft my way to 30 mil cash for a Bandos Godsword!

No update this week, Mod Emilee has said that due to game engine inconviniences the game update will be next week. This shows that it will be a massive update, especially since the weird floating-red circle-facing a weird direction thing that happened on the weekend!

Next Week's Update #2

Ok, last week's update has set the bar for updates in 2010 miles high, so I think that the next few weeks will be relatively low key. Anyway, here is the hint and my theories:

Hint : Give us a wave (or an extra fish!)

Theories

1. Fishing Distraction and Diversion - There are 5 Resource skills (Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, Hunter and Farming) and 3 of the have D and D's (Evil Tree for Woodcutting and Farming and Shooting Star for Mining). I think we will be getting more of them this year, so why not now? From the hint, perhaps an Evil Wave type thing? Use harpoons to kill it and get something to cook which will damage it further, that sort of thing.

2. Mimigame updates - 'Wave' could hint at a Barbarian Assault update, and the 'fish' could be Fishing Trawler? Perhaps a new Fishing minigame?

3. Animation Update - Possibly combined with something else, will we finally see real waves calmly lapping at Catherby's shore, or perhaps soaking your feet on the platforms at the Fishing Guild?

4. Something else - Always a possibility

Speaking of future updates, the new Postbag from the Hedge was full of hints! Zimberfizz hinted at Zombie Implings with the Impetuous Update, and the Chaos Elemental hinted at a massive Grandmaster quest based around the Temple, White, Black and Void Knights, and also at MEP 3 and Elemental Workshop 3.

I've gotten a barrage of levels in the last coupla days, including 70 Hitpoints (5th Skill at 70+), 67 Strength and 91 Combat, as well as 5 Hunter levels from 46-51. I'm getting my hunter up a lot for the Impetuous Impulses update, and I am at Orange sallies until 63 Where I wil do Red Sallies until whenever I decide to hunt Red Chins. Hopefully those new Implings will have some nice loot!

Refocussing + Costumes

Okay, so the hectic first week of school being over, I finally had some time to gather my bearings and focus on Runescape. I am afraid that, even with sports practices and matches permitting, I will only be able to get out a couple of posts a week, similar to Zoorhana. Possibly more, we'll have to see.
Anyway, I haven't really played at all in the last couple of weeks, with my time allocated to too many things to properly skill. Since my last post, I have managed to achieve 50 Summoning, 46 Hunter and 59 Mining, amongst Penguins, Circus (w00t Acrobat hood!) and dailies. I am once again at Cockroach Soldiers, trying to get the charms for 52 Summoning (Hello birdy!) while SSing it to 75 Strength and possibly 75 Defence. I've only been here 15 minutes and I've gotten a Rune Scimitar, Loop Half and a Ruby!. Gems have really soared in price, so when I have another Thieiving binge I will do Wall Safes for their good gem supply.
Now onto costumes. Having read Pie's post about having all 7 sets of Naval from Trouble Brewing (Gratz ;D) and Jaxana's regular costume trips, I have renewed my goal of full Lord Marshall from Mobilising Armies. Once I have that, and after the novelty of showing it off wears off, I have decided to get Full Void and a Void Range Helm from Pest Control, after which I have my sights set on the dizzying heights of 92 and then 99 Ranged, which I can then use to solo Kree'Ara (Armadyl God Wars Boss) in the hopes of a 120mil Hilt drop, and then using the money from that and my other loot for 99 Prayer. That was such a massive sentence I am going to do a timeline:

1. Obtain Full Lord Marshall from Mobilising Armies
2. Obtain Full Ranged Void from Pest Control
3. Achieve 92/99 Ranged
3. Get an Armadyl Hilt solo drop
4. Use the money on 99 Prayer because that cape and emote are the best in RunScape.

If I can get that by 2011 I will die with happiness! I won't be solely focusing on these goals, but if I have a moment of indecision I will just go for these goals!

Nomad's Requiem

Soul Wars has a dark underbelly that Nomad would rather you didn’t see. His disappearances have become more and more frequent of late, and each time he returns looking...different. It seems he has been working on something with dangerous implications for the whole of RuneScape, and there is a chance – but only a chance – that you can stop it.

Our second Grandmaster quest is wildly different from While Guthix Sleeps; instead of searching the world for answers, Nomad’s Requiem is set wholly beneath Soul Wars. Don’t be foolish enough to think that this makes it less challenging, however. Indeed, expect quite the opposite: this quest is densely packed with intricate puzzles, punishing environments and at least one battle that will push you harder than almost any other on RuneScape, whatever combat level you’ve reached. You have been warned!

Those who persevere and complete this quest will be rewarded with Zeal Points (among other things), which are stored at Soul Wars and can be spent in your own time. Zeal Points can be traded in for varying amounts of XP in any combat skill (except Summoning), Slayer XP, charms to train Summoning, or a pet Slayer creature. For a more detailed explanation of how Zeal Points work, check out the Soul Wars rewards on the Knowledge Base.

King's Ransom (including the Knight Waves)
75 Magic
70 Prayer

Must have fully completed the Soul Wars tutorial
Must have completed at least one game of Soul Wars (win, lose or draw)
Having very high (85+) stats in all combat disciplines is advised, unless you’re particularly good at combat

In other news...

We have improved how Zeal earned from playing Soul Wars is cashed in. If when spending 10 or 100 Zeal you gain a level in your chosen skill, then your new level will be taken into account as soon as it is earned, and the remainder of the 10 or 100 Zeal will be applied based on your new level. Remember that if you spend 100 Zeal at a time, you receive a 10% bonus to any XP gained, so now it is better than ever to save up your Zeal.

We've adjusted the apparent lag when using your inventory and clicking and dragging items around. This also means you won't drop the wrong item selected if you'd clicked too fast. Additionally, a slot will not remain highlighted when it shouldn't.

The tooltip description for the Soul Split curse has been corrected to reflect the actual amount of hitpoints restored.

You can now set an option to not offer the ability to switch between prayers and curses when recharging your Prayer at an altar. A few altars originally left out, including the ones found in the God Wars Dungeon, now offer this switching facility.

We've added a huge amount of drop sounds to items. It's a nice little feature that should let you realise if you've dropped something by accident that you didn’t mean to.

The Christmas 2009 holiday event has now been removed from the game.

So, I was right! We got a Soul Wars update, with the reworking of the rewards, and a new Grandmaster Quest! The Quest looks very, VERY hard, and there has been talk of an insane boss! The rewards were intentionally leaked, and they are --Spoiler Alert-- 3 Quest Points, 70 Zeal, a Soul Wars Cape and the ability to set your respawn point to Soul Wars. There may well be more, like the Dragon Pickaxe with FoaCD, but we'll have to wait and see. The cape has a +12 Prayer bonus, and good defensive stats, and can apparently teleport you to Soul Wars. At level 75 Attack, I can get 450k Attack xp with the 70 Zeal, so it is a very good reward, but yet again combat based which will annoy a lot of people. I am gonna do it as soon as possible, and put the xp on Slayer, because 47 Slayer at 90 Combat is crap :D

Next Week's Update #1

I'm having a good time on holiday - the snow is everlasting! Anyway, I am missing RS badly and I have been browsing forums and eagerly awaiting the Twitter Hint, which finally arrived about 35 minutes ago! The hint is:
"Why did Nomad get updated last week?"

Here are my theories:

1) Soul Wars Update: The Nomad runs Soul Wars, so this is a pretty obvious theory. Perhaps a new way of getting shards for summoning?

2) New Mahjarrat (Grandmaster?) Quest: The Nomad looks like a Mahjarrat, and since he runs 'Soul' Wars, perhaps this is the Grandmaster quest where we get the 'Soul' Altar? It would be a pretty awesome way to kickstart 2010, but I think this is unlikely considering th last few updates have been mainly quests and Temple at Senntisten was released very recently.

3) Nomad Quest: Possibly a short tie-in quest involving Nomad and Soul Wars?

4) FTP Part 3: This will be a theory for every hint until the damn quest comes out; perhaps Nomad is involved with the fairies?

5) The New Skill: LOL!

Anyway, this update promises to be pretty good and I am looking forward to it!

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I read Pie's post about her goals and high points of the year, and I would like to say that this year has been brilliant, particularly the second half! I really kickstarted my account this year, gaining about 600 levels in total, and I started blogging! I have some people I would like to thank for my blogging career, which has been wicked so far!

1. Iceydan1/SilentC0re: I would like to thank you for giving me the inspiration to start blogging! I had been wanting to add something to the Runescape community for a while, and you gave me the perfect place to give it!

2. Merch Gwyar - This was the blog that everbody had heard of, and I liked it so much that I have read all 30 something pages of it!

3. Full of Pie - Your enthusiastic blogging inspired me to expand my blog from an achievements log into what it is now :D

I also have some goals for 2010. The New Year message on Runescape has said that there will be new combat equipment, the next Grandmaster quest, which I am very sure is in the Mahjarrat storyline, will feature several level 80+ requirements, and will finally give us the use of the Soul Altar, and also the new Skill, which may come sooner than expected. I have a list of things that I want to achieve by this time next year, and here they are;

99 Fletching
99 Firemaking
Own a Bandos/Saradomin Godsword

I know that this is a pretty hefty set of goals, but I really want to step up my game in 2010. I have bought a Saradomin Sword and I am currently training Strength and Defence to 75, having achieved 75 Attack, and also 63 Ranged, in the early hours of this morning! I am still training Woodcutting, but nor at the pace of the last week or so. E Zenaku is about 2 mil Xp ahead of me, and I doubt I will win the race, but it is a good bit of motivation.

I spent an hour or so in the morning Woodcutting at the Sawmill, Castle Wars Ivy, an Evil Maple Tree, and consequently Magically Banking Willows. Then I had RL stuff to attend to, and I could only return for a bit fairly late. I decided to devote all my time for the next three days to Mobilising Armies, and I really enjoyed it! I've been experimenting with different techniques at Seige, and I have found that moving each of my units 1 space, as 10 commands must be made to get your rank, and then using my Gliders and/or Chompas to help the opposition, as most of the people doing Seige just suicide, is much easier and less costly than suiciding, and you get a lot more reward credits for winning! Hopefully I can get Serjeant and/or Commander clothing by Sunday and then I am away until school starts. Hopefully being the key word :D

I've been toyng with the idea of going for full Lord Marshall from Mobilising Armies, and I've decided to attempt it. In between Woodcutting, this is what I want to get. I played my first game of Conflict, and even though I lost, I gained 1 Rank and 5k Reward Credits! I looked up quick ways to get rank, and I discovered that deliberately killing yourself on the Seige (called Seige suiciding) game racks up around 12 Rank per hour, which is the most you can get in an hour.

However, getting the 300 Rank I need, as well as the extra Reward Credits I may need, as Full LM costs over 800k Reward Credits, is going to take around 25-30 hours of gameplay. I am hoping to achieve full War Chief clothing by the time school starts, but I hope to get Lord Marshall by March at the latest. In addition, I am going to add an MA log to the end of each post, both for me and you to keep track of my progress.

Penguins and Woodcutting

I didn't do the all nighter - obviously, as I fail at staying up really late :D. I logged on and decided to get my full quota of penguins for the first time in months. I have put off getting them for ages because I am on Quick Chat, but it was the day that they reset and so I thought I'd give it a shot. I managed to get all of them in really quick time! There were crowds of people heading off in search of them and I simply joined a penguin hunting cc and spied my fill - and it helped a lot that both WIlderness penguins were trapped right next to each other in the Lava Maze :D I teled to Ardougne and put the xp into Summoning, securing 48 Summoning and 90 Combat! I was just 1.3k away from the next level, so I grabbed some charms, shards, pouches and Tinderboxes, teled to Taverly and got 49 Summoning!
I then decided that it was time to get back to Woodcutting. I was 190k away from 86, and Yews were going a bit too slow for my liking. I tagged all my Curry Trees, getting 50 Farming in the process, and managed to get 20k on the way. I then remembered how quick the Sawmill was, and decided to head over there, with a Crystal Saw.
It was really fast! I managed to get down from around 160k to 16k in around 2 and a half hours, and then I headed over to Castle Wars to get the level!

I misclicked and didn't get a full screenie, but I managed to get this. As you can see, my magpie is dutifully at work scavenging away! By the way, I sold 4 Magpie's worth of loot at the G.E. and managed to get 140k! It is really good cash! Combine a Magpie with something like Cooking, Smithing or Crafting, and you barely lose any money!

Okay, so nearly 600k xp worth of non-stop Woodcutting was a pretty good run without getting bored, but that moment finally arrived today. I finished up my Morphic Hatchets at various points along my Willow Branch/Fruit Tree run (Ivy at Taverly, Yews at Gnome, Varrock and Lumbridge) and ended up at 190k xp till 86. I get a lot of xp from Ivy, but no cash apart from the occasional nest, and so I looked up a list of passive foraging familiars. In the end I had to choose between a Beaver, which helped my Woodcutting but didn't get that much cash, or a Magpie, which gathered a fair bit but was a Summoning level out of reach. I then decided that I might as well build up some charms for the eventual 60 Summoning push, so I raced to the G.E. to buy Dragon Platelegs, Abyssal Whip, an Obby Shield and a Rune (G) Platebody (An indulgence ;) ). I stocked up on super sets and slipped down the crevice to the Cockroach Soldiers. I managed to get about 50k worth of loot but only 8 Crimsons, and so decided to once again try my luck at Waterfiends. On Massecure360's advice, I wore a Zamorak Mitre, Holy Symbol and full Red D'hide. Realising the Whip didn't have a suitable crush bonus, I bought my first Barrows item, a Verac's Flail, stocked up on Potions and Food, and Fairy Ring'd it to the Ancient Cavern.

Well, it went a lot better than last time! I managed to kill 10 of them taking a full Prayer potion and 2 doses of a Super set, and got 8 Crimsons and some decent loot, which amounted to about 30k (profit - yay!). However, I noticed that the guy next to me was totalling them with a Zammy Spear with no prayer, so I realised that, at my level, Waterfriends are a bit too resource demanding for effective charm gathering. I decided just to use the Charms that I had, and now I am 3k xp till 48 Summoning and 90 Combat. I made Granite Lobsters until 47, then used all 50 of my Green Charms to make a good stock of Magpie pouches. I then banked everything, keeping my Rune (g) plate and D Legs, plus an Omni Tiara and Strung Rabbit Foot, summoned a magpie and teled to Camelot to cut Yews in Catherby. The magpie had only been out for 5 minutes before I had to log out, but it had already gathered a fully charged Ring of Duelling and Ring of Life, which is about 18k! It is a great foraging familiar!

Now that all I am doing is Woodcutting, I have settled into a routine everytime I log on. First of all, I get to the nearest bank and withdraw 4 Law Runes, 10 Air Runes, a Fire Rune, a Water Rune, two Earth Runes, 200k and my Varrock Armour 1. I then tele to Lumbridge, Falador, Taverly, Varrock and, using the G.E Spirit Tree, the Tree Gnome Stronhold. I cut 30 Willow branches from my five Willow trees, while also collecting my Battlestaves in Varrock, 12 Curry leaves from both Gnome Settlements and buying out the Vial and Newt Eyes Packs in Taverly. I then go about cutting Ivy, Yews and Magics. I think it is a neat system, and it brings in around 120k for 3 minutes work. The Willow branch run can be repeated every half an hour; incidentally, if you did nothing but collect Willow branches in one 24 hour day, you would make over 2 mil!

Anyway, today I checked the Hiscores and discovered that E Zenaku was about 1mil xp ahead of me! I decided to go to Stealing Creation, and managed to get 5 Hatchets from four games! I got 24 points in each game and I had 8 points at the beginning! I am currently on Hatchet #3, cutting Yews in Catherby with E Zenaku. E Zenaku, if you are reading this, then we should cut Teaks and Mahoganys in the Hardwood Grove together; you make a lot more cash than Yews with the Special Logs, and it is way better xp! However, you need to have a lot of Trading Sticks; I have 120k Trading Sticks, and they are fairly easy to buy at max on the G.E. Also, I just read your post, and I have really annoying spurts of loads of nests and then massive dry patches :P And I am cutting Yews while writing this, so if you see me standing doing nothing then you knwow why!

Have a merry Christmas everybody! It is about 45 minutes till Christmas in London so I'm off to bed to get some sleep before my siblings batter my door down in a mad frenzy to open their presents :D
I did some Woodcuting and Farming today, as well as my Penguins and a tad of Runecrafting, bringing me to within 3k till 56. I have an Objective which says '83 to 99 Woodcutting', as I am trying to pressure myself to get it! Hopefully I can get it within the next 6 months, and I just got 84 Woodcutting right now!

Have a very glitchy Christmas

I did the Christmas event, it was fun and I enjoyed catching up with my good friend Benny the Imp! The rewards were good, but doesn't a ghost costume seem like more of a halloweeney-type reward?
I used the Candy Cane glitch, and it does something very cool with a dragon dagger: If you do the glitch with a DD then the handle stays in your hand, but the blade soars up into the air with the handle attatched, and so the handle stretches massively!
I also discovered another glitch, where if you teleport to the Ectofunctus with an Ectophial, and then immediately change weapon, the Ectophial doesn't fill up, and you can't use it!

Anyway, have a great Christmas and New Year everyone!

Sorry for not posting for a while, I just finished school for the holidays, i had to do christmas shopping and all the time on Runescape was spent questing and levelling. I have gained 11 Crafting Levels, a Cooking level and a Mining level, as those are the 3 skills I am aiming to bring to 60 by Christmas, and hopefully Runecrafting and Smithing. I got 55 Crafting a moment ago, which I am pleased about!

I also did some quests, namely Fight Arena and Dig Site, so I have been pretty busy. I doubt I'll post much in the holidays, but I should do a few entries before I leave for holiday on the 4th of January to return on the 11th, which is the day before school starts. Sorry if that is a dissappointment, but after school starts it will be back to the usual regular blogs. I also really want to do Blood Runs Deep, which means that I have to complete Lunar Diplomacy and Dream Mentor, and the Fremmy Achievement Diary, so I am concentrating on getting the levels for those as well as getting all stats to 60.

Waterfiends, Temple Knights and Tidying my Bank

I quickly got bored of the Cockroach soldiers, and I decided to have a go at killing Waterfiends. I researched the best prayer equipment and read up on the Waterfiends and the Ancient Cavern. I kitted myself out in:
1. Monks Robe Top
2. Monks Robe Bottom
3. Holy Symbol
4. Ardougne Cloak 1
5. Explorer's Ring 3
6. Zamorakian Spear, which I had heard causes a lot of damage to the Waterfiends with its high crush bonus. I swapped my Whip and 2mil for the Spear!
7. Zamorak Mitre

The total Prayer bonus was +29, and I had read that a +30 bonus doubles the time it takes to lose 1 prayer point!

I stocked up on Prayer Potions, two full Super Sets (3), four Charm placeholders and filled the rest of my bag with Monkfish. I teled to the Barbarian Outpost, and dived into the Whirlpool!

It was a disaster from the first second. I got owned by a Brutal Green Dragon and arrived at the Waterfiends with 16 HP. I gobbled down some fish, and started attacking a Waterfiend. I noticed that I was hardly hitting anything, and that I was taking some heavy damage! Then I realised three things:
1. I wasn't using Crush, I was using Stab
2. I wasn't potted up
3. Although I had Pro Range on, I didn't have any magic defense, too preoccupied with getting the highest prayer bonus!

I potted up, changed to Crush and hoped for the best. I managed to kill 3 Waterfiends before running out of food! I only drank 1 sip of Prayer Potion and 1 sip each of the Supers, and I had got 2 Crimson Charms, 1 Blue Charm, 7 Water Orbs and 95 Water Runes - so I actually made money! I decided to put off Waterfiends until I could wear Proselyte, and so I dumped everything in the bank and went across to Falador.

Recruitment Drive was a fun, easy quest, with good rewards (Initiate Armour). I checked up the Requirements for Wanted!, and seeing as I had them all, decided to do tha tone as well. It was very fun, but somewhat tedious, as I was teleporting all over Gielnior just to find the stoopid mage! I did get an ownage pic of him ice barraging a gazillion soldiers!

Apart from that, It was pretty easy, and I got that completed as well!

The Slayer xp got me up to 47 Slayer!

I decided to leave Slug Menace for another day, possibly tomorrow. Since I was in Falador, I checked my progress on the Falador Achievement Diary, and discovered I was 1 task away from completing the Easy Tasks! A quick trip to Sir Renitee to discover my crest, and the Falador Shield 1 was mine! Plus, the 1k xp lamp got me 45 Summoning!

After that, I looked at the state of my bank, and decided that it needed a massive clearout! It took about 40 minutes, but it looks really good now!
I decided to wind down the afternoon with a bit of Woodcutting. I checked a Spirit Tree, and discovered that there was a tree in my world. A quick teleport brought me to an Evil Yew tree, and I set about chopping and burning!

I got 100% reward with the tree at 30% health, and I used my 22 minutes banking time to chop willows in the Tree Gnome Stronghold, bringing the xp til 84 Woodcutting down to 100k.

Just now, my five mushrooms finally came through on the G.E, and so I am off to install them in the Ancient Cavern. I leave with a picture of my new look - I think it is pretty sweet!

Nothing Much

I decided to work on Summoning, so I used up my Crimsons and got 44 Summoning with 300xp till 45. Also, I got another Prayer level yesterday, bringing it up to 46! I now have 1350 Total Level, and I want to bring that to 1400 by New Year, if getting all skills to 60 proves to be a bit too hard. I am camping at Cockroach Soldiers on world 70 until I get enough Crimsons for 57 Summoning.

I discovered that Kuradel gives Tzhaar monsters as tasks, and these can be upgraded to completing the Fight Caves as a Slayer Task, and killing Jad gives 25,000 Slayer xp! That, as well as Slayer xp for all the other mosters, makes a Tzhaar task excellent slayer xp!

...I was right! This mysterious Kuradel has appeared with her very own dungeon, and she herself is the highest level Slayer Master. She also has a special task for players to do, which I am very excited to see.
I decided to offer my bones to the EctoFunctus, securing me 45 Prayer and 800xp till 46.

I just bought 3k Gold Ore and I have just started to process them into Gold Bars and get my Smithing from 50 to 60, and I literally just got 51 right now!

After I get 60 Smithing, I'll either be Mining to 60, Runecrafting to 60, Cooking to 60, killing Cockroach Soldiers for Crimson Charms or killing Dragons somewhere for Prayer. After that it is back to Woodcutting, which I have neglected for a bit!

Prayer and Bones

Having reached 2.8 mil Woodcutting xp, I decided to mix things up. I had over 8k pure essence in my bank, so did some Runecrafting runs at the Ourania Alter and got it down to 8.5k till 56. I want to get all of my levels to 60 by the New Year, so Mining (56), Runecrafting (55), and Smithing (50) are the 3 skills that I am going to be focusing on.

I've been hearing good things about the new prayers, and the price of Dragon Bones has soared up to 4,992 gp each at the time of writing. I decided to go and kill Green Dragons, which are suprisingly empty considering how high the price is. I looked in the bank, and I saw that I had 16mil saved up, so I splashed out on a Dragon Chainbody, Dragon Platelegs, Abyssal Whip, Dragon Halberd, Obby cape and Obby shield. I look so pwnage!

I now have 60 D Bones, and I am in two minds about what I should do with them. I could sell them at 5k each, and they would probably go for max, so right now I could get around 300k for the ones that I have; or I could Ecto the bones, and bump my Prayer up to 60, thus securing one more level past my milestone and getting the use of some of the prayers. I have always dreamt about the Prayer Cape, and I think that the proceeds from 99 Woodcutting will go on that.
Having given this some thought, I am going to sell all the bones that I get now, and when the price crashes down, which it inevitably will, I will buy them up and get 99 Prayer!

Future Updates

I really like the Jagex Twitter hints. They are like short versions of the Clues from the Clue Fest, and the reward is a couple (or in last week's case four) of days to prepare for the update. For instance, last weeks Twitter Hint was "Curses! I can't think of a hint!" I thought about it, and came up with several ideas, listed in order of likeliness:
1. Necromancy - I knew that it was very unlikely, but the I did hope!

2. New Magic book - I was fairly close with this one, as the new prayer book came out.

3. New Mahjarrat quest - Curses reminded me of Curse of Arrav, and Mod Emilee had stated that there would be a new quest out this week.

I was right, but I had had some help (Mod Emilee) and the Magic Book was sort of right, just the wrong skill :D

I've been thinking, and I am going to do a Blog post about the Twitter hints, and my ideas, starting this week

Now, on another forum, one of the J Mods whose name escapes me said that there would be two quest sequels and some Guild orientated content in November and December. Now we have had the new Mahjarrat sequel, Temple of Senninsten, and Fairy Tale part 3 is due to come out by the end of December.

This week's Twitter hint is "Will she find her final
destination?", and I have two theories to next week's update:

1. Slayer Guild - I have noticed, on various forums, talk about a strange NPC called Kuradel, wearing a Slayer cape, turning up at several Slayer Monster locations, such as Gargoyles, and Stat Spying players and apparently stealing monsters! A Forum Mod said she is stealing monsters for a new dungeon/guild, and stat-spying players for the requires entry level! This makes me think she is setting up a Slayer Guild, and considering she is probably related to the deceased Duradel, it is probably related to Lucien and the While Guthix Sleeps storyline.
She also has an odd teleport, and I think this may be related to the new Slayer Item we were promised, possible a teleport to the Slayer Guild, and the Guild has teleports to various Slayer monsters?
Unfortuneately my Slayer level is a desultry 46, so I won't be able to check this out IF it comes out!
2. Fairy Tale part 3 - This is unlikely, although the she in the hint could be referring to the Fairy Queen, and her Final Destination could be her death?

I hope you like this! It will be a weekly thing, and if you trust me then it will give you a chance to prepare! One guarentee - If it is either of those, training Slayer and the big boss fight at the end of FT3 will require prayer potions, so they will almost definitely rise! Buy them now!

Broodoo Victims ---- Birthday!

All I've been doing is woodcutting. I've done my two Evil Trees every day, and I've been cutting willows with my magical banking time. Other than that, I've been in the Hardwood Grove. I calculated I have about 520k worth of free planks, and I have 10 nests unopened in my bank. I'm going to open them all on Christmas Day as a present! I currently have 130k till 84 Woodcutting, but I am doing a bit of Tai Bwo Cleanup to ease the boredom.

I got this in one trip - it took about 40 minutes! On fansites it says not to kill the Broodoo victims, but the only ones you shouldn't kill are the yellow ones: if you use antipoison on the green ones and food on the blue/white ones, they get hit constantly with hits as high as 25! The masks that these ones drop are worth 28k, and they take about 20 seconds using the methods above!

Getting on with it

I'm woodcutting in the Hardwood Grove in Tai Bwo Wannai on World 70, if anyone would like to join me. I am set on getting 99 Woodcutting, and the only time I will leave there is for Holiday events, checking out new updates and restocking on Trading Sticks. I got 83 Woodcutting today, and the Special Logs are coming thick and fast, so when i get the Skillcape I'll have tens of millions worth of planks!

I was a bit miffed the update didn't come out today, as they usually come out on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. But oh well, it's probably a major update if it is taking so long!

My birthday IS POSTPONED UNTIL DECEMBER 18TH - My computer is being taken away on Friday >:( and it won't be back until next week, and I finish school on the 17th, so that is a good time. Hopefully I'll be able to talk then as well!

Doing the Cleaning

Sorry for not posting recently, I just didn't have much to write home about. I completed Regicide, discovering that I'd been a retard and killed the wrong guy, but I still have a chance to rectify my mistake. That spurred me on to complete Tai Bwo Wannai Trio, and the Cooking xp from that got me to 53 - I hate Cooking, it is my most hated skill. Then I tried Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup, and to my surprise it is really fun! I cut the jungle fairly fast cos of my decent Woodcutting level, and I got 31 Probosci, 5 Spider Carci and 5 Snake Hides before I ran out of antpoison. I banked at the parcel service - really useful- and headed over to the Hardwood Grove. In the twenty minutes I was there, I got four Special Mahogany Logs, one Special Teak Log and three ring nests. Not bad! It is actually excellent cash, as the logs that I cut get turned into planks, and when doing that with Mahogany I can get nearly 50k per inventory using Special Mahogany Logs! And I get around 10-15 Special Mahogany Logs an hour!
I don't think I'll finish the Cryptic Clue Fest. I worked out all the clues just for the fun of it, but I just can't be bothered to get it done, particularly as the Reward is bad and you have to hold it to do the emote.

Quests+ Herbie

I decided to do Tai Bwo Wannai Trio, in order to gain access to the Mahogany Trees in the pen thingy. It was so infuriating! I always ran out of energy, my dragon spear couldn't be poisoned, the karambwan always stole my Karambwanji, and I had to take infinite trips to various banks to get a forgotten item. I gave up on that :)
I discovered that I could take a charter ship to Port Tyras, which cut out the Undergound Pass, and I am currently doing Regicide. It is a fun quest and I didn't realise how far I had got when I stopped it!
Other than that, I had a relaxed day, doing this and that, Woodcutting and stuff. I got some Herblore Levels to get all skills over 30 and to be able to make Agility Potions for the Tai Bwo quest, which didn't buy on the G.E.

I was looking through Full of Pie's pictures from the Bloggers meet up, and it seemed like everyone had a skill or quest cape. I thought I'd give it a go in September, but I gave up at 82 Woodcutting. I have now resumed my quest for the Woodcutting Skillcape, and I have found a most nifty way to powertrain and make cash at the same time.

You go to Castlewars, then run to the Teak tree. Cut and drop until you have two Special Teak Logs. Then get a full inventory either by cutting or picking up you logs from the ground, and teleport to Fist of Guthix with Ring of Duelling. Run to the Sawmill, exchange your special logs for a free conversion of your logs to planks, then teleport back to Castle Wars and repeat!

Tidbits

Played for around 10 minutes today, in between shovelling down food and continuing with coursework. I checked my Agility and Runecrafting Levels to see which one was closer to a level up, and it turned out to be Runecrafting with 1.8k left :D

So I deceided to Abyss Law Craft, and after several failed trips where 'the power of Saradomin prevented me from entering the rift', I realised no familiars are allowed on Entrana, and after rectifying that mistake I crafted 250 Laws, making about 65k in 5 minutes, and getting the level.

Anyway, I am going to a play tomorrow night and won't be able to play, but I'll play a bit on Thursday and hopefully get another Agility level.

Thanksgiving + Agility+Birthday Soon!

I came home and immediately logged on to Runescape. I had 10 Monks left in my pack and 31k till 62 Agility, so I decided to give it a shot. It was close but I got the level!

The Wilderness Agility Course is desolate, and the two people who appeared while I was running didn't want to do small talk, so it was mostly revs for company. I was pretty lucky as far as revs were concerned - only an Icefiend decided to take a pop at me. He failed, and I lolzed at him:

I got the level, then went to the Chaos Elemental and asked to die. He decided to have his fun first, putting my clothes into my pack and teleporting me around, before finally wacking me with a 32.

I read Merch Gwyar's post about the hidden Thanksgiving Event. I suppose Jagex didn't want to make people think it was the main update, and since it isn't a major holiday it doesn't really deserve of a proper quest.
I talked to Chef's Brother, who moaned about his fowl problem (LOL) and teleported me to a field full of level 138 Turkeys. Having read Merch's post, I knew what was coming, and switched my spec on:

WOW! A combined total of 335! I wish I had got the xp for killing them, I would have got another Strength level!
After I'd killed all of the plump turkeys, I was teled back to the Kitchen and got the use of the Thanksgiving emote!

I only played for an hour today, but it was time well spent.

I missed the Meet up AGAIN by sleeping through my alarm - I am really sorry, and I must get my ears hosed out :(

I want to have a small meet up for my birthday, which is Saturday December 5th. Just a few people, nothing major, but if you'd like to join me, leave a comment.
